Riding forwards. Its the most basic wooden rollercoaster at the park by far. A turn in the beginning into a nice drop and then straight forward bunny hops the rest of the way. Its exciting and fun but nothing special. Riding backwards though is a different story, feels way more exciting not seeing where youre going and the rush from dropping from behind is great.

Refering back to my Carowinds review of Thunder Road, I didnt get to ride the backwards train on that one. I did, however, get to ride the backwards train on Rebel Yell BUT not the forward one. Wierd. Anyway, there really is no difference between the two at all. They are both pretty rough rides that subsitute pain for airtime. I didnt really get any airtime on this at all. It bangs you around side-to-side, and the trains and especially the restraints are very painful and take away most of any fun you might have. I cant say that this is a terrible ride (although painful as it is), since it is very fast and can provide some laughs. A little above average.

Not too bad a ride, kinda fun, but also a little short. Definately a must-do at the dominion.

This isnt one of my favorite woodies, but it holds special meaning to me personally. After years of being terrified of roller coasters, my friend finally managed to dupe me into riding Rebel Yell, a seemingly monstrous coaster at the time. As we were climbing the lift hill, I was seriously contemplating the murder of my so-called friend, but as soon as we were flung over the top of the hill, I was officially obsessed

Well even though I like this one better then the one at PKI it wont score as high since I give the Racer historical points and its appearance is better. APPEARANCE-5 Needs paint and the gound around it is nasty, just not much too look at. CAPACITY- 5 Only one train when I was there so a pretty low rating. RIDE QUALITY- 9 I got some decent air, speed and the ride felt better then it looked. FUN-8 I enjoyed it except for the HUGE drop of water I got in the eye on the tunnel. RERIDE-7 not a must ride but a should ride. OVERALL-34 AVG-6.8 So Ill say 7, the appearance really keeps this ride from a chance to get an 8.

I had a lot of fun on Rebel Yell, which I believe was my 80th coaster. I rode the backwards side firse, twice in the front row (well, whatever you want to call the car that crests the lift first). The backwards side was ok, probably worth a 6 because the air was lacking and though the premise of not knowing what is next is cool, the ride wasnt all that fun. After that, I headed to the other side of the station and took a ride in the back of the forwards side. Though the trains were cramped a bit, the ride still provided some great air, and on pretty much every hill, very similar to John Allens GASM, another woodie that I enjoyed. The first drop is the best of course, and the first two bunny hills provided really good air. The transition from out to back was a bit rough but do-able, and coming back gave more weightless sensations. After another great ride in the front, I would say that Rebel Yell forward gets a 9, so together, they get an 8, though I would have prefered to see them race (my last ride was close to synchronized, about half a trainlength in seperation).

Please, the Layout is so boring. Up,down,up,down,up,down,up,down, turn,up,down,up,down,up,down, tunnel, station. Also, it really doesnt get up to speed or an extraordinary height.

Its kind of boring because it keeps going up and down again and again. The backwards is maybe a 6. It wasnt at all as I expected.

A racer that no longer races as one side now runs the trains backwards. I rode both forward and back in the front and back seats. I give the ride 6 going backwards and 7 going forward. Backwards there was air on the first hill and also the first hill after the turnaround. However, going forward this ride provides very good air time throughout.
