There is no question that lauching into the darkness is pretty cool, not something you get to experience everyday, although the launch wasnt that great. Spinning, twisting, looping, and whatever else-ing in the dark is different and exciting. I have to admit that this is a pretty fun ride, not quite what I expected but that is not neccessarily a bad thing. A very fun ride.

I liked this one a lot better than the one at PKI. It was a lot less braked and seemed to have more inversions, although Im not sure if it actually did or if my memory is off. It also didnt hurt that the wait was almost 45 minutes shorter.

I knew barely anything about this ride when I got in line. When I found out about the launch I was so excited (if you have been following my reviews, you know I love a good power launch). I never expected to go upside down on this thing! It was so fun and I wanted to ride it over and over again. Worth your time at PKD.

Launching into complete darkness always adds a nice touch to a ride, and Flight of Fear is no different. This has to have the most confusing layout of any coaster Ive ridden (for years, I could never figure out what maneuvers it actually performed amidst this tangled mass of steel). Overall, it is a good ride, but I personally need to have good visuals in a ride to be really impressed. Though being tossed about by high-banked turns and an unpredictable layout in almost complete darkness is enjoyable, it just isnt as good as other launch coasters with similar veracity but in broad daylight...

This is probably one of my favorite rides at PKD, being second only to Volcano. I remember that I liked it even with the headbanging (even though it hurt alot). But now that the lap bars have been installed, this ride has become one of my must visit rides. The only problem is that if you ride it many times in a row, you begin to get bored and very disoriented. I stopped at 5, but feel free to do more.

This probably is the best traditional steel coaster at Paramount chain. I rank Volcano higher. I prefer PKI version slightly more due to PKD version being slower during the second half of the ride.

I found this to be a very enjoyable launch coaster, even better than Rockin Roller Coaster, which was a former occupant of my Top 10. To begin with, Flight of Fear was very well-themed for a coaster north of the 30th parallel -- the spaceship was really cool! As for the ride, I enjoyed it a lot. The launch out of the station was fun even though it is the slowest in the park (but you could have fooled me that it was 55mph). The layout was my first spaghetti bowl, with track everywhere full of weaves and twists. Apparently, there were four inversions, but the darkness and disorienting layout and pacing made me lose count. All of the inversions were taken pretty fast and it made for some intense moments. Perhaps the greatest downfall of the ride is the jerky motions, which can get the body swinging into the harnesses (I wish that they had lap bars too ). FOF was a fun ride and worth at least one ride, because few rides will scare you, and this one does just that because you have no idea what is coming next.

I liked the "alien spaceship" theming. The launch was also very cool. It was a little short, and the ride slowed down more and MORE until it turned into a sluggish second half.

This one really caught me by surprise. I think it is still a notch below Volcano, its next door neighbor, but this one doesnt get the attention it deserves. This is my highest ranking for an indoor caoster, passing Rock n Rollercoaster. Some great inversions, a powerful launch, and great geforces make this a great ride. Fabulous
