Ok, to be honest, i remember that the ride was totally awesome, but after the launch, and then the burst back into daylight, the ride is a blur!!! i have never blacked out on a ride, and i dont think i did here, i just cant really remember what happened! i do know i loved it though, cause my heart was racing faster than ever afterwards!!
This is an ok roller coaster. I was expecting it to be a lot bigger seeing as how they had to get rid of 3 rides to build it. No such luck. Its score lost a couple points because the ride breaks down a lot. I remember waiting in line a half hour to ride, and it broke down 3 times. I even saw graffiti in the queneing area stating "I hate this break down ride. However, I must say its launch is fun, and I like being up high at the top of the mountain.
I also should mention that those 3 rides they had to get rid to build this were rather good. There was a haunted water flume, a ride that spins you around really fast and then lowers the floor, and a slow train dedicated to the smurfs (good for a break, and it had good scenery)
We did get to Volcano and rode twice. Intamin has really distinguished itself, again, with this ride. It is an inverted coaster with a DOUBLE LIM launch. straight out of the top of a Volcano. The ride then continues through a series of heartline rolls as it spirals around the volcano.
re-reviewed (4/17/03) The double LIM launch does not disappoint and sends this ride barreling out of the station. The speed is exhilarating. I liked the fact that Intamin stuck with heartline rolls and didnt employ any loops in the ride, making it unique amongst inverted coasters. The speed going into the brake run is tremendous and makes you wonder why the ride wasnt extended another 1,000 feet.
A lot of fun, and a quick ride. Suprising elemets, even though I thought I knew the track layout. Dont miss it.
The Volcano is my favorite. This coaster is built so well that even on an empty train at top speed I feel completely safe. The faster the better! Be the last in line for the ride of a lifetime!
My favorite inverted coaster. Volcano might not have the most exciting second half, but the first half may be the most exciting sequence of any ride! Well, Hypersonic may have it beat by a small margin, but Volcanos opening launch-turn-launch-erupt sequence is simply mindboggling!!! A truly unique ride in a sea of sameness, Volcanos layout is nothing like any B&M. The 3 heartline rolls may be monotonous, but they did not have a lot of space to work with I guess. The rolls are not like any other coaster though...they kind of hang you upside down. I agree that the end is abrupt and a waste of speed. A double helix inside the volcano would have been the icing on the cake. As it is, though, it is still a 10 in my book for its sheer intensity!
I thought this was the 2nd best thing here! Simply wonderful! Amazing lunch, vertical clime and the heartlines had me laughing all the way.
Inverted coasters are my very favorite. This was not the best, but the take-off was truly one of a kind. The length of the ride seemed more or less dictated by a lack of park space. The park planners have very little room to work with here anymore.
Good Coaster. Awsome Launch.....and climb. Good inversions. A little on the short side.
This ride was awesome, but i think that they should cover up the launching part because it ruined it for me when I saw the launch. I knew it was coming so it wasnt that scary
