The Georgia Cyclone can be very smooth sometimes, then extremely violent the other. Never ride this ride after it has rained, especially in the back or expect whiplash or something. Great drops and speed spirals, and thrilling woodie that exceeds all expectations.
nothing that really made me excited. and it was too rough forme to handle, which some of you might disagree about but thats my opinon
Prominent near the park’s main (well, now only) entrance, the Georgia Cyclone looks truly impressive, with hundreds upon hundreds of white-coated lumber, rising more than 100 feet above the ground. The Cyclone opened in 1992, and I had the pleasure of riding it in the inaugural season. This coaster, designed to replicate the legendary Coney Island Cyclone, is a very good wood twister, and it provides one bangin’ ride, with that term being used in multiple meanings. The lift takes you up about 100 feet, and you plunge down, going slightly to the left. You head back up a hill, and then enter the massive, twisted layout that the Cyclone provides. The next hill is one of my favorites, the way it jolts to the right and flies right by the station, providing airtime and lateral movement. The rest of the ride repeats this process, with an all-out assault on your ability to inflict pain on yourself. While it is a very good wooden coaster, it is also quite rough, and it will most certainly rattle your internal organs, so have a medic on standby. I have yet to experience the original Coney Island Cyclone, but I have been on all three clones, and this one is very comparable to the Texas Cyclone, a coaster which I would have loved to ride before the accident. And there s absolutely no doubt that the Georgia installation is better that SFMM’s Psyclone, simply because, nothing is worse than that poor attempt at coaster designing. Oh well, 2 out of the 3 clone’s rock, and that would get you an MVP in baseball, so I’m still satisfied.
My original rating was an 8, and I think that I can stick to that, it certainly doesn’t deserve a 10, but I also can’t give it a 9, because in comparison to the other woodies that I awarded a 9 (Rampage, Hurricane, Giant Dipper), it just isn’t quite as good.
This is one great coaster. Its hard to beat this type of ride. I still prefer the original.
This coaster blew me away. My absolute best coaster ride to date. Airtime City ! Headchoppers Galore! What a wild amazing ride. If you havent ridden a Cyclone style twister, please do, it will change the way you look at all wooden coasters in the future. Worth the price of admission. Not for the novice, a wooden coaster lovers dream.
They do make things bigger, but not quite better. The wooden structure makes teh ride look more massive than the original, and it is a bit taller and longer and wider. But you cant help noticing that the drops arent as steep, and the turns arent so tight. But the builders hearts were in hte rigtht place. This is one intense twister. very fast , very powerful feeling. Great air all over the place
The pacing toward the end of the ride is actually an improvement over the original (Id love to try it without the breaksthough.) This is a very good ride in a park with several good rides. If you like the GASM youll LOVE this ride. And although intense its not very punishing, unlike the original.
Who would ever want to teach this old dog a new trick?
Nothing great or terrible here.
I hate wooden coasters cause they are not steep, fast or high.
well its probably not that bad though but this ones an exception
I loved it ive never been on THE cyclone but that had Awesome airtime.
