It has been a really really long time since I have ridden this, but from what I remember, Mindbender was my favorite steel coaster when I went to SFOG. Back then they had a lot less coasters, and I suppose this one still is surviving. I loved the loops and I liked the unique green square track.
This is the king of retro, Schwartzkopf, looping coasters. It has 2 vertical loops, and awsome first drop, an under-ground tunnel, a 5.4 G super loop-drop thing, and a rockn Riddler Paint Job. Wow.
Loved this ride! I has airtiime, lat. gs pos. gs, headchoppers, ..., everything! To add to that, I was riding in the dead middle car both times--rare to see such forces in such a seat.
This is one of the highest capacity rides in the park due to the simple lock&go loading and 2x7x4 train setup.
Walking up to this ride, you only see the final turn and breaks. I was wondering where the rest of the ride was... Upon entering the line you can finally see the Chain Lift, First Drop, and First loop, but then it heads into the trees. I knew it had two loops, but I didnt know where the second on was hiding. After waiting in line for 10min I finally got into the second row. The lift seems to take forever... when you finally reach the top, the train comes almost to a complete stop, but then picks up speed, fast! You dive down the first drop into the loop which is VERY intense, you rise into the trees and over a hill into some breaks, providing a GREAT pop of air in the front row. You turn and come across the rest of the ride. The helix, wrapping around the second loop, I cant even describe how intense this thing is at the bottom! Best helix in my book. You do a nice dive into a ditch, then rise back up into the trees, make a sharp right hand turn into some breaks. Then you fly down towards the second loop which is even more intense than the first one. Into the tunnel you go, rising up into the final right-handed 90° turn into the breaks. Great ride!
AWESOME CLASSIC A+ ride Forever live the
MiNd BeNdEr
This ride was good. However, the long line I waited in I dont think was worth it all, but the ride overall was still good!
One of the greatest steel coasters ever built
I loved the Mindbender because it was fast, fun, and it even had a head-chopper. I also admired the color-scheme, very clever. A true Schwarz classic.
I love these classic looping rides with lap bars instead of shoulder harnesss it really add to the thrill and the themeing is really great and makes the ride look really cool
I dont know about it now that they have S:UF, and Deja Vu, but the Mindbender was my favorite ride at SFOG, there is just something about a looping coaster without shoulder harnesses. The 2 best rides in the park are in Gotham City. Batman is a good ride, but if the lines were the same, I would choose the Mindbender. You just cant top the classic coaster!!
