Great old ride but very direct and to the point. No ride goes upside down faster or more often than a well run Looper!
The Looper is a flat ride. It is average speed, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
A very fun ride with history, naturally well-maintained. It really is a unique ride and doesn't feel much like any other. Children and adults both will enjoy this.
Unique and rare flat ride that still gives one heck of a ride. The ride looks to be in great shape and rides well. I found the restraints to be uncomfortable during slower loops during the ride, but the ride was fun as I got tons of loops throughout my ride and the first few were pretty intense. It also had a long cycle.
I really cant stand this thing. I find the restraint they use really uncomfortable, and I for one am not over weight in the least. I find the pedal very hard to use and i dont want to work to ride a ride. Im sorry this is just not my thing. Maybe im just too big for the ride, and my legs are to long to fit properly... but i cant give this more than a 6.
The first time I rode this ride I loved it. But the second time it made me a little sick. I would ride it again when I go back. I never really been on something like this. So I will give it an 8.
I am going to have to go with an average here. Even though I thought the ride was extremely funny it really isnt all that fun. I even got a little sick towards the end. However, the first few rotations are pretty fun and sometimes can be a little intense. The second time I rode it definatley wasnt as fun as the first. However, I am not letting that affect my score. To me just an average ride, with an added laugh factor.
Unlike Larry I do not have the equilabrium of a small child so I did find this ride to get a little sickening at the end of the cycle. However, I also laughed a lot and talked about the ride for the rest of the day. It definately fits in the not everytime I go to the park catergory, but it was still really fun.
OK, I finally got to ride with someone who wanted to flip (as opposed to my niece). The ride can be very intense especially when the cage doesnt make it all the way around and you are suspended upside down for a bit. The fun starts the minute the ride op tells you that you can start rocking the cage and then it becomes a competition to see who will complete more rotations.
The Looper was an entertaining ride providing lots of looping and a work-out too. Located on part of the old Whirlwind site in the back left side of the park, the Looper is one of Knoebels newest rides. Restored excellently, the Looper has the new Flying Turns sitting behind it. Also, there are some trees surrounding the ride. With bright orange and navy colored wheels, each of the Loopers wheels seat two people. Because of its low capacity and one of Knoebels newest rides, it had a 15 minute wait when I rode it. Often single riders can move through the line quickly to pair up with another single rider. Before you board the Looper a friendly employee instructs you on how you control the wheels. Taking a while to load and unload, you sit facing the other rider. You are restrained by a strong seatbelt at the lap. Once the ride begins you have to follow the operators instructions. When you are told to begin rocking, you have to shift your weight with the other rider to rock the wheels. It was somewhat difficult to rock at first, but once you got it going it was easy. Soon you are told that you can use the foot pedal which allows your wheel to go upside-down. To use the foot-pedal you have to push down hard on it. Once my wheel started looping it continued for the rest of the ride. It was exciting and there were many loops. The only downside was there was some slight discomfort when you hurled around the loop. You get a good ride cycle with tons of looping. Overall, an excellent ride that also provides a work-out and gets the riders involved. Only those who dont mind going upside-down should ride the looper and it was one of Knoebels best rides.
