While not as large as I expected, ZooAmerica is certainly a lovely addition to Hersheypark, with some very nice animal displays. Any one worried about not having enough time for this should know that it can certainly be done in less than an hour, so stop by if you have the time. The prairie dogs are adorable and not to miss!
The zoo is small and only has North American animals which aren't that exciting (except for the bears). The zoo is laid out nicely, however. It is very easy to nagivate through the zoo and not miss anything. Also, it is shady (unlike the rest of the park). It is hilly, however, so stroller pushers should beware.
A decent small zoo featuring animals found in North America.
its a nice little zoo that is located inside the park. the zoo is for free for park visiters but not for the genral public that did not go to the park
Nice little zoo. Some cool animals. Bears are cool. Good way to spend some time.
Nice selection of animals, and a great way to take a break from the park and sun. Worth it to go, since its free with admission.
ZooAmerica was an entertaining way to escape the heavy crowds of Hersheypark. With the Hersheypark entrance in Music Box Way, ZooAmerica is a very small zoo that generally isnt too crowded. Also, its free with Hersheypark admission! Landscaped very well, ZooAmerica ultilizes its space nicely. With many animals around an oval shaped layout, ZooAmerica has some great animals. In some parts of ZooAmerica, the Monorail travels above you. With many fascinating animals like prarie dogs, porcupines, falcons, ravens, and more, my favorite animals were the large mammals. The bobcats, black bears, gray wolves, bisons, and mountain lions were all great to see. I spent around an hour in ZooAmerica and it was a decent zoo and a great way to escape Hersheyparks crowds. Anyone who wants to avoid Hersheyparks crowds or loves animals shouldnt miss this great attraction.
Being from up north, I enjoyed seeing some of the animals from the more sunny climates, that I am not too familiar with. Otherwise, I think that a zoo with only North American animals is a bad idea. The zoo was pretty peaceful though, so it is a good spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park.
This is a nice feature for a break from the sun, rain, or power failures that shut down the rides (but thats another story). There are a couple air conditioned buildings, and the path through the outdoor areas is shaded and woody with filtered sunlight. The dark building designed for viewing nocturnal animals was GREAT! Those plexiglass cages seemed rather small, but most of the outdoor animals seemed to have adequate space. It wasnt a great zoo, but it provides some variety to the park, and perhaps gives the general public more accurate views of animals (particularly large rodent-types) in a fairly natural setting.
THIS IS NOT A RIDE!!!!!!! It is a separate attraction with its own gate, hours and price (when not entered from the park). It is a nice little zoo with some neat animals. It is nice to do with the park, but there is no reason to go up just for the zoo
