I like this ride alot at the park. At the time I was at the park, it was one of the best rides there. I dont get the feeling that I dont know where Im going though. It is just fun to bang your chops against the seat. The way to avoid it, is to put your knees higher up. I like the banging better. The seat gives you so much fredom without hitting the person next to you. There is still one better at this park though, even though that wasnt open that day.

This is definately the best ride ever!!!!! Going up the lift hill on your back is a lot of fun. The dip before the drop makes you feel like you are flying. The drop with the backflip at the bottom is probably the best part!!! After that you pretty much dont know where the heck you are going!!!! Is it scary? Yes, Is it fun?, Yes, Is it smooth? Pretty much. There are soo mant good things about this ride that i love but i cant describe. I suggest you go on this ride one hour before the park closes because they let you stay in the park until you got on the ride. If you dont youll probably wait in a 3 of 4 hour line. When i went one hour before the park closed i only waited and hour and a half. So when you go 2 Six Flags this is the best ride there so go on it!!!.....if it doesnt have a 3 or 4 hour wait. A must ride for everyone!!!!!
Remember, 3 words!!!! Best Ride Ever!!!!!!

The fear comes from unpredicaple suprise, the fun comes from acheiving you fear. Overall this is some one of the kind experience that creat unpredicaple disorientiation rather than simply G, loop, drop, helix, bank, cobra roll or inversion. The ride is VERY SCARY, which is good; the line is even MORE SCARY, which is bad. Is it worth three hours wait? NO. Cause nothing worth 3 hours wait. Is is worth 25 bucks? Yes,if you have the patient to wait 3 hours to ride it twice. I would say the only drawback is the line. If there is no line and you could go back to back to back ride, wow that would be perfect.

Only the heartiest of souls will brave this ride. A long wait, but well worth it.

We arrived at Magic Mountain and the first thing we saw was X looming above the park. We walk into the park and we are told X will be closed for an hour. We walk up to X and decide to wait it out. After half an hour X opens up early! We run through the empty line and choose fourth row. We are sent off as the first train of the day! We slowly climb the lift and we suddenly hear a loud screeeech. Our train jerks to a halt and we wait for a few moments for some help. A teenage girl walks up the hill and says "we will get yall off as soon as we can". Some rude people start yelling at her about how they want to see a mechanic not her (LA has such a nice crowd). Its at this point I notice the line is huge so rerides will be unlikely. A mechanic slowly trudges up the hill taking his time, makes a few adjustments and then sends us off. We get thrown into a little bunny hop then drop straight down. After that our train rockets over a second hill slamming me around the weird restraints. After that I dont remember much but slamming around and a couple of loop like barrel rolls. We finish the ride with some more head banging flips and drops. When we get into the station the operators tell us we get a free reride. I politely ask to get off and practically the whole train gives me the finger as they go off. After that, I walk to the giftshop and buy some $8 Advil. I was pretty upset that X was nothing more then a headbanger. I was still considering giving this an eight because of its originality, but it got a seven because of the major headache it gave me. Magic Mountain needs to get their act together. X almost always has a 3 hour wait, so ride at opening.

In my opinion, X is the absolute best ride in the world. Until you have ridden this, you have not experienced what a roller coaster can do. The seats of this coaster extend off to the side of the track, rather than ride above or hang below it. They are therefore capable of flipping around as the train is running its course. The motion reminds me of the Zipper flat ride at carnivals, which apparently is from where X drew its inspiration. You go up the 200 foot lift hill backwards, and you get a great view of the park while doing so. When you reach the top, you start to tip back even more, making it feel as though you will do a back flip. You pull out of this, though, and sort of swoop forward as the train plunges straight down this huge drop. This would be extraordinary enough, except that about half way down, you do a complete 180 degree front flip, so that while you were just looking straight down at the drop, you are now looking straight back up at it. You then go through what is being termed a raven turn, which is kind of an incomplete loop. You dont quite follow through to the upside down position while in this "loop." Instead, you travel forward some more through what looks like straight track, except that right in the middle of it you get a surprise 360 degree back flip, which is my favorite maneuver of the whole ride. You have a nice swooping turn next, which is probably the tamest portion of the ride, but this sets you up next for the craziest portion of the ride. There is an essentially indescribable element called a twisting flip, followed by another raven turn, and a yet another twisting flip before hitting the brakes and pulling back into the station, again backwards. Every element comes at you at just full force. Whether you hang on for dear life or let yourself be tossed around with sheer abandon, you will come off this thing in awe. There are some downsides to this ride, however. First off, this is an Arrow, which means it is rough. I always bang the back of my head against the headrest big time during the first twisting flip. Also, remove all items from your pockets before riding, or they will fly out. Next is the sometimes interminable wait in line. I have been in line for this ride immediately at park opening, and still waited more than two hours. This could be due to technical difficulties or just running one train or whatever. Still, get there first thing, because later in the day the line is almost unapproachable. Lastly, this is a relatively short ride. However, X completely makes up for these faults by what it does. I have waited in line for four hours and come off with a pounding headache, yet Im still willing to get in line again and do it all over. It is that phenomenal.

I thoroughly enjoyable and fun ride, except for the wait and the station, which was a madhouse. X provides unique sensations and great surprises throughout. I would have ridden a lot more than two times if I could have. No ride in the park was more than a 15 minutes wait except this one that was about 1 hour 20 minutes. It would have been wiser for SF to add the second train prior to 4:15, since they close the queue for the ride at 5PM.
