Compared to Roller Coasters, I wouldnt give t his a 10, But as a Dark Ride fan, Ill give this amazingly themed ride a 10. Very memorable too.
not all that scary, but good special fx
Probably the best "dark ride" in the world. The commentary is great, the scenery is great, and the "cast members" set the mood.
The best dark ride ever created, still holds onto all of its magic. No, its not scary, but it is fun and awe-inspiring. Every trick and gimmick is simple and direct, but perfectly displayed and engineered for a fantastic experience. I just figured out on my last trip that there are 2 "picture/elevator" rooms, which helps explain why I never saw people leaving the room as I walked into it.
This is why I go to Disney. It is also mecca for all dark ride junkies. The effects used within are spectacular. A highlight of the ride is deffinetly the ballroom. The music is also terrific. Youre ghost host has a great voice for the ride. Im suprised that they didnt get vincent price to narrarate the ride he was alive at the time. Lots and lots of detail. It really isnt that scary and its not meant to be humor can be found alot here. However there were a couple of scenes that I found creepy. The room full of giant black light reactant spiders this room is black as pitch and if you get stuck here (as I have been)it can be quite unerving. The other is a tiny room that you pass through with only one object in it an old grandfather clock. The clock is spotlighted and is twisted look closely to see that one of the hands is a severed human finger. As you leave this room a shadow of a clawed skeletal hand passes over the clock. Its great fun but it will scare a little kid. I got stuck with one once and he clung to my arm the whole time.
The first time that I experienced the Haunted Mansion, I was disappointed. I guess I didnt feel that it lived up to all of the promotion and hype--or at least not to my expectations which had been shaped by coverage on Disneys "Wide World Of Color" when the ride opened at Disneyland. Since that initial experience, however, I have really come to enjoy this attraction. Once my expectations were in line with what the Haunted Mansion delivers, I could appreciate it for the fine work of art that it is. No, it is not going to change your life or overwhelm you with advanced technology, but as spook houses go, it is clearly one of the best. Room after room presents you with detailed images and in many cases, cleaver special effects. Collectively, it is very well done. Now I cant imagine going to the Magic Kingdom without seeing the Mansion.
the greatest old ride EVA! The effects that are used are still so cool looking. The music is great and so is banging on the car in front of you. Enjoi!
Disney did a great job with the scenery on this ride, but it really isnt scary.
This ride wasnt as scary as I had hoped it would be, but it had great visual effects and was really fun!
This ride scared me as a kid. Now that Im an adult, the fear is gone but the fun is still there. A ride thats really stood the test of time.
