Very nicel carousel for the park. Nicely themed, fun, rerideable, large capapcity, average duration.
Just a standard carousel that you may see at any traveling fair around the country. The horses (and a few exotic animals) were plastic that seemed to have seen better days. Then the ride operator had to wait for every horse to be filled up before he would start up the ride. He had us sitting there for about 20 minutes before the ride started moving, and when it finally did, the up and down motion of the horses was horrible. The up was fine, but when the crank started moving down, it felt like it was slipping and would slam the horse down to its lower position. After a while it started to get REAL annoying. Dollywood seemed to like the idea of old "antique" type stuff. If they were so into that, I would hope that they would invest in a better carousel than this carnival carousel. They should buy an old Mangels Carousel or something.
Thie mediocre Carousel definately does not fit the park at all in my opinion. Being in the woods, having all of the wood crafts and with the rustic nature, why go with a plastic Carousel? Grr.. well, it is run for an ordinary length of time and is just a standard carousel, so I cannot give it anything above a 5. I mean, it could be worse, but not much worse. Cmon Dollywood, try to poick up a real tique if you can!
Nothing special here. Just a standard Chance Carousel.
I miss the antique carousel the park use to have.
Not the greatest carousel, but still a great ride, nice look and feel to the ride. The horses arent wood like you would expect though.
