The Monster is a flat ride. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and a long duration.
Not as good as other versions out there. This one loads a bit quicker, but the individual cars dont spin nearly as much as they do on others. However, the ride made up for it by the arms spinning around pretty quickly and the long cycle.
Lives up to its name. I grew up on the Monster at Kings Island, which used to pack quite a punch back then. I was thrilled to bump into this one at Lakemont, and gave er a go. Man alive - talk about endurance tests. It was a blast, and run at one heck of a clip - but wow, did they ever keep that thing going for a dogs age! By the time the cycle came rolling to a stop, I was more than ready to disembark... but recovered relatively quickly. Darned suitable for lovers of this sort of thing.
They must have sped up this ride since last year because it moves at a fast clip and they run it for a long cycle. The individual cars dont spin that fast but the arms rotate around the axis very fast. I was certainly dizzy when I got off. The ride is pretty intense and put a lot of pressure of my neck and there no head rest to lean back on so I found it a little painful in that regard as I had to fight the forces trying to rip my head off.
Kind of slow and not very thrilling. Its near by and older cousin, the Octopus, is wilder and better ride.
