A decent ride. This is nothing that will blow you away, but it still is a bit of fun. The launch (although a bit underimpressive) was good fun. The loop was semi intense, and the LIMs midway through the ride were a nice surprise. This ride is a bit rough in spots, although its nowhere near as bad as an SLC. A decent ride, a little overpriced. 8 / 10
i want to give it a 10,000 ive been on it 45 times (i live in cali) and YAH! go to the sahara and go on it DONT look at it before.... let it surprise you IT WILL!
I love this ride. very good launch and it went far up the back spike when I was on very nice ride.
This and the Big Shot are definitly the best rides in Vegas. If you are chosing between the Manhatten Express and Speed, DEFINITLY TAKE SPEED. You will thank me later for a better ride and for saving you money.
even with these reviews I wasnt expecting much because it doesnt look like much. It was better than I expected, The launch was nice and the ride held its speed throughout. I really enjoyed the two overbanked turns before heading up the tower. I dont know if it is always this way but for May 2004 it was buy one get one free, so $10 for two rides
Well, Ill say this was the most dissapointing ride I had in Vegas. The reviews here gave it such high regards that I figured it had to be mroe than it looked, unfortunately it was less. The launch was ok, at best, not nearly as breathtaking as I wouldve hoped (Ill stick with the Intamin Impulse coasters for best LIM launch). And the ride itself is just rather basic ... turn, dip, loop, turn, spike, repeat backwards. You dont ascend the spike nearly high enough (not even enough to give the "illusion" that youre about to run out of track as SFKKs GREEZED LIGHTIN and CPs WICKED TWISTER do nicely). The worst part of this coaster is the train/restraints themselves. Havent we learned, lapbars on LIM coasters is the way to go? Couple good rams of my head/neck into the restraints and I was left more than a little dazed (and not in a fun way). This coaster, like most coasters in Vegas, gets hurt severely by the cost too ... $10 per ride or $15 for an all day pass is ALOT to ask for this ride, and it makes one expect quite a bit of value for their dollar. Value which SPEED just did not deliver.
Superman in Vegas! A must ride, but not the best in Vegas. It is a "sleeper" - it does not look like it acts. I was not ready for it to be good as it was. Only thing better would be to ride my motorcycle down the strip at 100 MPH. The police dont like that, do they?
Best rollercoaster on the Strip. The acceleration at the beginning is exhilerating, as is going through the loop backwards on the way back. the only bad thing in my opinion is after the second lot of straight track acceleration (just after the loop), the is a small turn to the right before the coaster banks round to the left before climbing the vertical tower. I found this small turn to the right annoying, but its probably a personal thing. If it werent for this, I would give the ride a 10. Also- I recommend getting the all day pass, because after riding it once you will want to ride again- everyone does.
Neat-o! I bought an all day pass and rode over 20 times! I sat in the back, and the front, and just about every seat in the middle, and there were no lines. The back in best for the most intense launch, but the front has the views, as well as the a trippy backward loop experience. Awesome for a Vegas attraction!
This was a good ride and all, but I think it could have been better. It was short, and wasnt very smooth. I just wish it wasnt so much $$$!
