Ya, I dont know about this one. It could have been great. The launch was terrific, the drop was great. But that was not good enough for me considerring the ride was pretty much over after that. And by the way, bring some heavy duty sunscreen for the line. Theres not to much shading plus its not to fun having to walk that windy up hill garbage.

I wanted to love this ride, but it just didnt do it for me. The launch is intense and the tophat is a perfect element. But I wasnt as fond of the loops, which seemed a bit unnatural (and rough). I need to ride it again, but for now it gets an 8.

Storm Runner was a crazy launch coaster and my first one nevertheless. The powerful launch (despite it being the slowest Intamin rocket coaster, but the fastest Intamin rocket coaster acceleration), blistering speeds taken at a relentless pace, and its smooth inversions make it a great ride. Storm Runners a nice addition to Hersheyparks wide array of rides & coasters. I'll admit that when I heard about Storm Runner coming to Hersheypark in 2004, I thought that it wouldn't fit in and would completely mess up the whole theme of Pioneer Frontier, but I was wrong. It only gets an 8 from me because of its short track length as it seems like it has so much speed at the end that it could've went through 1000 more feet of track by adding in a lot of airtime hills. The endings also probably the worst one ever as it goes to an S-turn taken at a very high speed which could leave some riders with shoulder pain. I didn't get shoulder pain at all, but it can happen to some riders who are sensitive. Besides that, it's well worth going to Hersheypark and giving rides to their best steel coaster that can compete with their outstanding woodies. Ive been on Storm Runner 13 times up to date & even though it has grown on me a lil bit, the fun just never stops.

This coaster made my eyes water... that launch is insane. I loved the selection of loops this ride has. But the ride is over like that, and the final turny things are reallly bumpy and painful.

UNREAL! Just watching the ride wiz by while stuck in traffic trying to get to the parking lot was great. I went to Hershey for the first time since I was 7 back in the middle of September. The line was over a two hour wait so we waited until night and made it out last ride of the day... still being a two hour wait. I dont understand why the park didnt make the queue bigger but oh well. I liked the area to watch the launch, which we stopped at during the day, which added to the anticipation. The voice at the start made the beginning creepy. At night, being straped in waiting to go from 0-72 in 2 seconds flat, feeling like you are out in the middle of nowhere by yourself in the front car, starring at the tophat changing colors in front of you and just listening to the guy and counting the seconds for him to say "Here we go." What a build up. The ride was nothing like I had ever experienced. At night, everything was a blur as we twisted and turned and rolled at high speeds so far in the air. I want to return to Hershey so I can ride it during the day to see everything. But it is the best ride that I have ever been on. I highly recommend you try it...especially at night.

Crazy. That is the only word that can describe the Storm Runner. I had only been on one launch coaster before and it was a completely different experience. First of all, the launch was much smoother than I expected. I had never been on a coaster with a vertical drop either, so that was way cool. Actually, the drop felt past vertical, but that is because of the airtime over the top hat. The roll was awesome two, even though it seemed like you werent going very fast through it. The flying snake dive was so fluid after the roll, you hardly know its there! Those turns at the end were kind of odd, but it didnt take from the breathtaking ride. Also, at 5 feet tall, the restraints were comfortable to me. The restraints dug into taller people though. (6 ft. and up.) Overall, the ride was great partially because of its intensity. If not for the line, I would have ridden it a million times.

A fantastically intense coaster! The heartline spins and snake dive element is one of the best elements on any coaster. Im amazed at how fluid that entire element combination feels. I do wish it were a little longer. I dont know who decided that if a coaster is launched, then it doesnt have to be a long coaster. The train is carrying an enormous amount of speed into the brakes and they could have added a couple more elements. But, the elements it does have are all top notch.

Wow. This ride was great. Prior to this, my only launch coasters were Jokers Jinx and Hulk, this ride put both of them to shame. The launch was quite frankly perfect (EDIT: not as perfect as Xcelerators, but still incredible). The top hat offered an awsome shot of airtime and a small pause. The Cobra Loop was great and offered some nice floater air. The zero-g roll was really disorienting and you got a great dose of air going into it. The flying snake dive was the biggest surprise of the ride. I didnt expect it to be nearly as intense or as fun as it was. Exiting the flying snake dive gave me a crazy falling sensation, almost like I flew out of my restraints in the middle of a roll. Then, to finish your trip you get an airtime hill. My only complaint is the restraints. If youre tall, they will get sorta uncomfortable. Also, it felt pretty weird holding on to the lapbar when youre wearing OTSRs. Your basic instinct as a coaster rider tells you to grab on infront of your chest but on SR you have to grab on like a lap bar. However, you quickly forget about that right when you start to pull up to the launch pad and the scary voice strarts telling you about how you should ride. I loved it, I just thought it should have been a little longer, but I dont know what else they could have put in to match the first part. I think its better to have a short coaster that is awsome than have a coaster that starts out strong but gives a weak ending.

Very solid addition to Hersheys line up. Makes me long even more for the day a park will order a rocket coaster that is actually considerably long because that is all that keeps this gem from getting a 10. Unlike Top Thrill Dragster, I craved a little more from Storm Runners layout. Dont get me wrong, what Storm Runner did in its layout knocked my socks off even after over a 5 hour wait (read TR for story). The launch, tophat, vertical drop, barrel roll, and flying snake dive were absolutely delicious. The cobra roll wasnt quite as good but still awesome. The only very forceful sequence is the S-bend because it is taken at such high speeds. The restraints werent as bad as I thought they would be and I could actually raise my hands on a steel looping coaster. Our crew was running great as well. Still very energetic even well after the park was supposed to close.

Amazing ride, start to finish. The launch is incredible, airtime on top hat is top notch, cobra loop is what keeps it from being better than TTD (slow and kinda boring) the barrel roll and flying snake dive are amazing inversion, and the S-curve at the end of the ride is nice and fast. I REALLY loved this ride. Only thing from keeping it perfect is the cobra loop, which is slow, non disorienting, and just hurts pacing of the ride. Ill give it a 10 to make up for the 8s.
