This ride defines a roller coaster and what a ride SHOULD BE!!! For its time, it was the single most viscious, wildest, and ground breaking coaster ever. Currently, it is the single most viscious (and still enjoyable), wildest, and ground breaking coaster ever. This ride takes what a wooden coaster CAN BE to the maximum, taking the simplisitic and pushing it further than ever. In my opinion, modern wooden coaster champs are still trying to live up to THE BEASTs style and power ... still using ideas from it and tricks it perfected. In fact, the only coasters that I feel compete with it are the steel coasters (which werent around when THE BEAST was built). I think that says it all ... everything about a coaster had to be rethought to even compete with THE BEAST and still, its new steel competitors just cant match the overall experience of the original.
Beast lurks and riders hop on the creepy train and creaky track!---------------------------------------------
Enerving launch down over 100 feet into a mysterious tunnel!--------------------------------------------------
All hands up in the air for the long chase through the woods!--------------------------------------------------
Slowly Up the Second Lift and drop into Oblivion! Double Helix Action!!------------------------------------
Terrifying, unmatched Night Ride Experience!-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Beast is my favorite coaster ever and since it is the longest woodie in the world and wooden coasters are the best type, this just has to be the winner. Theyve taken all the brakes off the first drop for the 2002 season and lightened them up through the tunnels, so now the most ferocious coaster ever is even better than before. I love the old wooden theming and the signage for the coaster is one of the coolest looking in the World. I love how its so hidden behind all the trees and you dont even remember that youre at the park. Now, youre just on the back of this insane Beast dashing through the woods fighting to not get kicked off. The last helix is one of the most memorable parts of any coaster anywhere, so Im glad to have it right here at Kings Island. Come ride The Beast and hear the roar!
Almost 25 years later and still one of the best and most famous wooden coasters in existance. The Son hasnt taken much of the spotlight from Papa at the wooden coaster capital of Paramounts Kings Island as The Beast continues the reign as the longest wooden coaster in the World with the wildest earthquake-simulating helix anywhere and a forceful rampage through the woods unlike anything Ive experienced before. The coaster really shines at night when the chase is truly on as the pitch black surroundings make you sense the rides extraordinary power even more. Not the biggest coaster for multiple major drops, but sure to scare up the bravest and most experienced riders... and if youre like me, youll be begging for more. Wooden coaster nostalgia at its ultimate best.
My favorite coaster for nearly 20 years. Now I have new favorites and the Beast was a little rougher than I remember it from last year. I guess a coaster is only as good as the last ride you took on it.
This ride is one of my favorite rides. Its so cool ..... especially at night. Traveling through the woods at night on this coaster is such a cool experience. The helix at the end is really cool too.
Great ride, but brakes on first half hurt the excitement bad. Great helix ending, but Beast has dropped IMO.
I love this ride. More than its son. But I definately think the Beast, like almost every ride at PKI, needs more airtime.
A wonderful woodie - long and hard, just how I like them. This ride just goes and goes and goes. The best rides are at night when it really goes crazy and seems to be trying to buck you off. Someone stole my pants from the queue like. (dont ask)
One of the best woodies, if not, THE BEST, wooden coaster on the planet. Pacing is awesome and the first drop into the tunnel (which looks too small for the car to fit in) is awesome! The helix was great, but it gave me a headache. Maybe it was because of lateral Gs, maybe it was because i was sitting in the direction of the bank, the left side of the car, or maybe it was just me. I dont know, but besides that, this is probably the one of the best wooden coasters.
