The best wooden rollercoaster. Fast, relentless, scary. The helix give a very serious impression of impending catastrophy...but without hurting you. How something can throw you around and zip you through so much so fast without actually causing any real discomfort, as far as wood, is something I havent before or since ridden.

The Beast has always been an
overrated train ride, especially with
the football field length mid-course
brake. In its current state of sparce and sporadic
maintenance, its now a painfully
rough, virtually unrideable pile of
firewood. Perhaps it should be
dismantled and made into three
smaller but better coasters. The
Beast and its boring son prove that
bigger and longer dont equate to
better. It seems this monstrosity
always makes top 10 lists, but all
that does is make me wonder if the
voters ever got outside of
southwestern Ohio. Barring a multi-million dollar makeover, Ill never set foot on that horrible contraption in this or any other lifetime. Out of the nearly 400 roller coasters Ive ridden, the ranks at the all-time bottom. If theres another coaster out there worse than this, I hope I never find it.Turn The Beast over to the FBI. It would make an effective, if inhumane tool for torturing information from suspected terrorists.

Its the Beast, a classic, its great.

I ahve been rideing the Beast for almost 20 years, and it is still the best wooden ride that I have ever been on! Even with all the terrible braking that has been added- nothing can tame the Beast.

I first rode The Beast at about 2 PM in the afternoon, and came off disappointed. The ride was long and fast, but the numerous brakes seemed to take away from it, and it was extremely rough, and I usually like my woodies rough, but this was too much. I also have a major complaint about the seat dividers in the cars, as I came off bruised from the one that comes up the middle of the seat back. These dividers are totally unnessicary.

So I bet you are wondering, if I had so many problems, why give it an 8. Well, I did my second circuit at about 9 at night. Right off the bat, the ride ops that night were on the ball. They were fast and efficant, and they were exciting, pumping up the riders.

And the ride, well lets just say it is something to behold when riden at night. I was fast, powerful, and the tunnels, well they are absolutely incredible at night. You sour through them in totally blackness, they are awsome. It seemed to be running fast them during the day as well. My suggestion, make this your last ride of the night, it is a ride you will neer forget.

Each year I go to PKI many times and The Beast is the only coaster I insist on riding each time. This year I tried the rear car, which I had never done before. Wow! You can really feel the speed in the rear car - especially when going down the drop hill. As with other reviewers, I had felt the braking had slowed the train down too much in the past. This year, however, the braking is different and the train has a lot of speed. The Beast is always best at night. The best experience I have ever had was on a Friday night - enthusiastic crowd and racing through tunnels in darkness.

A great coaster but if you have any back or neck problems, dont ride it. The beast is pretty intense, but now that there is the Son of the Beast riders can enjoy double good wooden coasters.

One of the best coasters Ive ever ridden. The only woodie Ive ridden that was better was the sequal, Son of Beast. Its a good rough ride, but not so rough that you come off wishing you didnt ride. If you go to ride it soon, I suggest riding it at night because when your in the tunnels, you cant see your hand right in front of your face!

The Beast, IMO, is still the best wooden rollercoaster around. Everyone says CCIs are so good, and they are, but they dont have the insane, out of control speed and intensity that The Beast has.

Wow what an incredible ride! I wasnt expecting as much as i got on this ride. Exciting throughout the whole almost 4 minute ride. The best part by far is the doble helix at the end. It is crazy! The length of the ride is almost crazy too. This coaster is a classic.
