I became a coaster fan because of this great ride - so I might be a little biased. However, Ill say that it combines speed, layout, violence and sheer creativity, producing a coaster thats downright artistic in every way. That second chain lift and helix drop is a doozie - but my favorite part is: when youre heading for the second lift, the track veers suddenly to the right twice at high speed, and the effect is incredible. A little tip - the #3 train is the one to ride, if you have the opportunity - I spoke with a maintenance worker there years ago, and he let me in on the fact that that trains chassis is much heavier than the others, creating a faster, stronger ride. And its true - youll notice that it takes that train much, much longer to ascend the chain lifts, and the speed is awesome. Sorry to be long-winded, but I figured it would help yall out! And need I say - try to ride the Beast on a hot evening, right after the rain. Grease is released on the tracks from the heat and moisture, and if its dark, oh, hot diggity.

While this was a great ride, I didnt see what made it "all that". The length was the best part, being four minutes with two lift hills. Some parts were a bit rough, but nothing like Son of Beast.
The fact that this is still on top after 30 years is amazing!
The setting is neat, through the woods. I even saw a white tail deer eating grass, right next to the track!

Coastnut has problems, Beast was amazing. I loved the bridge across the creek and the sudden turns. It was so cool because you didnt know what was coming up next. I love the beast and PKI would be crazy to tear it down!

After reading about The Beast for years in various publications, I find it hard to believe myself that it not only lived up to but surpassed my expectations. From the anticipation of standing in line wondering what to expect to The Beasts mindnumbing finale, a truly amazing ride!

This was a great ride. This is what every roller coaster should be like. A nice long ride with speed that I did not expect. The two tunnels make this this exceptional ride a great one. The lift hill is a little slow but I think it enhances the feel of the ride.

The best wooden coaster Ive been on. I didnt mind the lull in the middle because the Beast offers so much more: huge drops, good speed, terrific length, that super-loud tunnel. Classic.

I stayed up all night after riding this ride. The adrenaline rush is great on the first hill. I know that there are higher, faster coasters...but few better, in my opinion, than the Beast.

Great ride. Great speed, length, and airtime. What more could you ask for in a wooden coaster?

The Beast has been a hero to me for some 18 years. I grew up reading its statistics in the Guiness Book of World Records, long before the internet could help me envision it. I guess you could say Ive loved it all my life. Naturally, I was concerned that my first ride (taken 2002) had a lot to live up to and I was afraid I might be let down. The morning of my ride, I joined fellow ACErs on a First Ride of the Day and... WOW. Sure, people complain about long straightaways and brake runs; however, simply put: there is no other ride in the world like the Beast. That first fast furious tunnel, the hills racing through the woods, the long strecthes of winding track meandering through fields of wildflowers... its out of this world. And of course, the double helix... suspense, intense, unrelenting, marvelous. 18 years was a long time to wait... and worth every minute.

Relentless raw power! The Beast is my fave woodie and it deserves all the praise it receives IMHO. Rode it first thing of the morning and last thing that night. Seeing the sun rise and set on the Beast is something youll never forget, besides the ride!
