I rode this twice during the day and once at night during the storm. The worst part of this ride is that is sometimes so shakey that the restraint clicks down during the ride and gets extremely tight. Riding at night is sooo scary with the 10 second long completely dark tunnels and unexpected big drops. Definitely a must at Kings Islands with the nonexistent lines and long ride time.

A good ride, but I dont consider it a ten. Maybe if I had gotten a night ride I would rate it higher. The ending helix was great, and it makes great use of the terain.

I rode this 2 times. The first i didnt actually like it.To me it did not meet expectations. But then I came back at night. I found out why its called the beast at night you cant see aside from the lift hills. It made me want to go again. Its a fairly smooth old woody. Best ride at PKI

The best woody there is (tied with its son). You MUST ride it at dark and in the front seat if possible. The track isnt lit at night, except for the second hill, and it seems like you go sooooo much faster, plus you cant see when youre going to drop or turn.

What can be said about The Beast that hasnt already been said? The Beast is one mean wooden coaster and I loved every second of its beating. This is the epitamy of a terrain coaster as it is nearly impossible to see most of this ride from any place in the park. After 25 years this coaster is still kicking major tail and very few rides can have that said about them. This ride was "the ride" for me that changed me from a casual park-goer to a full-fledged coaster fanatic and it has been 6 years of nothing but complete coaster obsession following. Long Live The Beast!!!!!!!!

I went on this in the cold rain. It was awesome. It was very long and very bumpy. I really enjoyed the Beast. But its rebellious step son is better. I dont mind bein shook around a lot if there is the speed to compensate.

A great classic ride. The sound was amazing when you went into the tunnels. I can say that this is one of the most fun wooden coasters I have been on, because it was quite smooth compared to others, namely SoB. It had some great air time and some good lateral Gs. It is a must ride for any wooden coaster lover, which I am not, I just dont like woodys over steel but this one came as close as a woody can get to a 10.

Let me start by seeing it is better at night but i tried to rate it based on both day and evening rides. APPEARANCE -10 it still looks amazing the tress around it are amazing especially during the fall. the trains have a classic look. i really like the old school signs that still habg in the lines and the documentary is nice. the staion looks a little to mine ridey and i miss real concession stands in the line like the old days. RIDE QUALITY -8.5 the last time i went i noticed the trim brakes more than in the past. maybe its because ive rode 80 new coasters since my last visit, but i cant overlook a trim brake on the first hill. airtime is non existent especially with the seat belts but the long ground level straightaways make up for that. CAPACITY-10 still loads very quick and with three trains the line hardly ever stands still. it is also better since they dont line you up have way down the midway like the old days. FUN-10 still exciting, still fast, still orginal even after all this time. just a fun ride for all levels of coaster riders. RERIDE 10- still the number 1 reason to go to this park. still one of the best coaster anywhere. no matter the wait this is the one thing you have to do when you are at PKI. OVERALL 48.5 AVG 9.7 so give it the 10 the use of trim brakes cost it 2 points and moved it behind shivering timbers to my # 3 ride. phoenix still the unprecendented #1. its amazing when you think of all the advancements and all the new wood coasters how well this one stands the test of time. i would love some park to try and make something similar.

I love this ride. You have to ride this old woody at night. Last time I was at kings island I rode the beast 6 times. I just love everything about it.

I really love this ol coaster! It was one of the first I rode as a kid and I still enjoy it today. Yeah, Son of the Beast is better, Ill admit, but Nostalgia goes a long way on this one. The scenery rocks, too!
