It's sort of a nice looking carousel, but it doesn't match the building it's in. It's a small carousel in a huge building, which used to house a Philadelphia Toboggan Company hand carved 1909 carousel. The least they could have done was to buy another antique carousel after the other one was sold by it's owner (who lived in California). There are plenty of them in storage. They kept the Artizan Band Organ that used to play with the old carousel. The people that own this park chose to let it sit there unplayed since the old carousel was sold in 1997. It was restored in 1996, and yet one year later, they stop using it. It is one of two Artizan A-1 model band organs left in existance, and they just let it sit there unused. Instead they use a stupid cd recording. This park used to be good at one point, but they keep something good for only a small period of time and get rid of it for something that sucks. It seems to be the Palace Playland way. If they have no plans on using the band organ anymore...why won't they sell it to someone or another park that will? It has taken all kinds of abuse like the metal strip being ripped off as well as other things. Palace Playland doesn't value their history or much else in my opinion.

It's a nice-looking carousel with good variety of animals, but has the typical Chance design that it shares with so many other carousels. It's also a shame they don't use the band organ that they have; it has been allowed to go to ruin for so many years and will probably need serious help if it is ever to play again. Children will not notice this, of course, and will have a great ride nevertheless. The mural on the inside of the building, while it has been getting more and more difficult to see, is eyecatching and fun.

This is a classic carosaul.I had to ride in the seats because they have a weight limit on the animals.I rode it twice. If you go to Palace playland please remember to ride this classic gem.

APPEARANCE: For a fiberglass carousel, it looks incredible. The lights at night are excellent and I really love the pavilion the park put the ride in and it really makes the carousel seem much older than it is. Unfortunately, the park doesnt use the classic band organ it has, but instead uses a muffled recording of one.

WAIT TIME: Walk-On- I have never had to wait for a carousel before and why would I when carousels have a high capacity.

RIDE: I had a blast on this carousel. It was run for a long time (near 5 minutes) and the motions were very smooth and good as well. Also, Palace Playland definitely wins the award for the greatest variety for animals to ride on, as they had a bunch, with the pig, lion, tiger, and dragon being my favorites.

FINAL VERDICT: This was a really fun carousel to say the least. However, it will never match traditional carousels in terms of greatness, but the ride still is very good for what it is.

This Carousel is just beautiful. I ran this ride several times. I SAT in the chairs because there is a weight limit for the moving seats (animals). This ride gives children the immagination they deserve. Children love this ride. If adults dont like the ride because it is fiberglass or whatever - that is ok!! Because kids absolutely LOVE this ride. ~Becca

This ride is pretty cool, and very special to me. I have an old 1998 calendar with a picture of me on the rabbit on this carousel. The only bad things are that they have a very, very, very rare Artizan band organ, but just let it sit there, and they do not make sure that their recording of carousel music is always on. I had to storm to the ride operator to get it turned back on. Those problems aside, this ride is a gem.

This s a nice large carousel. Im not found of Fiberglass Carousels which is one problem with this ride. The other problem is that they have a fantastic traditional band organ yet they only play a recording. They would do better to replace this with a real carousel.

The most well maintained ride in the park, an indoor wooden floored carousel. Three rows deep, many, maybe all the outside animals arent horses.
