This was a very mediocre walkthrough...it wasn't very exciting and was actually pretty boring, and not in good shape. I think it has good potential, but needs to be reworked or at least refurbished.

Seriously crummy. It was so dark in there. It was impossible to see where to go through the incredibly narrow hallways. It was harder to get through than their glass house. There are only two things in there that are visible in the entire house: a small plastic skeleton held up by a hook and graffiti, apparently there is some kind of gang at york's wild kingdom and the haunted house is their turf. The stupid buzzer at the end could have at least been a ghost noise or something.

Back in ’05 during my visit to York’s, I encountered this creepy-looking Haunted House, which the park was billing as an incredibly frightening experience. Well, its exterior definitely created a spooky ambiance like it was intended to thanks to the combination of the ride’s dreary paint scheme, cobwebs scattered about the house, and the horrifying man out front who frequently pukes out blood. I always have heard “not to judge a book by its cover;” however, this attraction was far from creepy or enjoyable once I entered.

Never having a wait, I can always walk right on in. Now I had been anticipating a unique walkthrough attraction, but instead I was treated to a long, dark walkthrough down a narrow passage with almost no scenery or theming whatsoever included. I mean sure my first time the attraction was sort of creepy since I was just expecting something to pop out at me, but nothing happens. The only good part is the superb finale, consisting of a really well-executed strobe effect that is accompanied with an incredible effect that always makes me jump. But other than that, this attraction is just a let-down in my opinion.

The Haunted House definitely looks spooky and like it should provide a good fright from the outside, but once on the inside I was shocked by how poorly executed the ride was with the exception of the aforementioned strobe room, which is really cool. Now I know this is a portable attraction, but still there should be more included to make the attraction entertaining than just a long, dark passageway. Really this is a passable attraction like most of York’s attractions, but it’s worth experiencing once if you have time primarily for the finale.

I remember being really freaked out and having to be carried out by my dad on this one years ago. It just looks so good (especially with the funny gravestones) that it deserves a great grade. However, on the Merry-Go-Round, it is all too obvious that the Haunted House is simply trailers put together (staircases are obvious). Also, ticket-takers at the front somewhat ruin the effect. They would look a lot better if they were dressed as morticians or something.

So much fun with a large group. Scaring one another, walking ahead to pop out at people. I had a great time both walkthroughs.

Not much haunt to this haunted house attraction. Its got one great scare at the end and one really freaky room. The rest is basic or below. But worth a walk through if you’ve never bee through. This ride needs some major updating.
