My first hypercoaster. I had been scared to death of most coasters until my Cedar Point trip. My friend somehow dragged me on the legendary Magnum. It was a big step for me. Before this one the biggest coaster I had been on was the American Eagle at Six Flags Great America. I stood in line with my friend. We seemed to be the only kids in the whole line. Everyone else was 18 year old boys with their girlfriends. I must have heard Funkytown about 10 times while waiting. When we sat down in the train I wanted to jump out. Instead my legs didnt work and my hands pulled the lap bar down. There was no turning back now. I felt like I was going to puke. We chinked up the lift hill very slowly. I figured out after the end of the ride that the lift hill is the scariest part. Finally we got to the top and I held my breath and my fingers were turning white from holding onto the lap bar so tightly. My friend put up his hands and we soared down. I felt massive airtime as we cleared the first hill. On the second hill I poked my head up and slowly put my hands in the air "WOOOOOHOOO!" I yelled as we desecnted down the second hill. From there I was all smiles. After going through all the tunnels I realized it was over. As soon as we got off the train I ran back to the line with my friend trailing behind me. I was the happiest man alive that day. I had finally conquered my fears.

I had been afraid to ride this my whole trip because I had been told about how rough it was. I walked up to Magnum without waiting (I thought this meant that noone wanted to ride but it just had good capacity). Once on Magnum we went up the very loud chain. I was once told you could see Canada from Magnum but I was to scared to look anywhere. Our train got launched down the first drop, then over the next hill, and thrown into a drop turn element. Every time I ride Magnum I swear Ill be thrown into the lake. Magnum is really rickity but smooth its hard to explain. You feel less protected unlike other rides, maybe because its not as strong. After that I got thrown into a turnaround that seemed a little too overbanked. Magnum ends with some nice airtime producing bunny hops and turns. I enjoyed this more then many other rides at Cedar Point and I thought it was great. If you are ever near it ride this walk on.

This is a CLASSIC. When I went to Cedar Point I wasnt expecting too much from this coaster. Even though its old, it still provides a fast ride and some great airtime. Those "triangular" bunny hills are awesome. I thought people gave it good ratings just because of its impact on the coaster industry. Now I realize that this coaster is amazing because it gives an awesome ride. A winner!

Magnum rocks!!! The airtime on this thing is AMAZING!! The lap bar is so unrestricting and the coaster is so fierce you have to love it. The bowtie element pulls some nice positives and the ending bunny hops have tons of air. The lap bar WILL hurt your thighs though due to the extreme moments of airtime and after a couple of rides, you will be sore. Still, how can I complain when there is so much airtime that it hurts?

This was a very good hyper... especially considering it was the first of its kind. The height was good, but the lift seemed to take forever. The airtime was very good, and the tunnels made the hills pitch black when I rode at night. I enjoyed the plentiful hills and the bowtie-like turn around. However, the thing that kept this ride from being phenomenal was the rougness- though little, enough to drop a point.

The thing i like about this ride is that i have never had to wait in line long at all but thats just my luck because i have heard that it can get pretty long. I was actually pretty scared the first time i rode it. I loved the futuristic theme about it also. The lift seemed to take forever. But its well worth the wait! The first hill is great and the second is really good 2. I loved the pretzel shaped thing to. After that it just becomes painful. I mean ok 2 bunny hills are ok but there is like 5 and they r the most painful 5 ive ever been on. Overall i rate it a nine because of the speed and the first and second hills. U Gota ride Magnum XL 200 when u r at CP!

Holy OUCH!!! Love the height, love the drop, love the layout....but man the pain I was in after I got off this ride!! I guess Im just used to new smooth coasters. My legs kept slamming into the lap bar over each hill and my head was all over the place. I shouldve gotten the photo of me on the ride...my face says it all...my expression looks like someone just punched me in the stomach! The view is great and this is a great coaster...but man, I wish it didnt cause so much pain!

I really like the layout and tunnels, although it could have been smoother. I sat in the "ejector" seat (1st car, 3rd row), but that not only got me airtime but also a beating on the thighs from slammming against it. Hard. Oh well, still a classic well done coaster.

This ride is amazing! I loved the airtime this ride has, it doesnt matter how old this thing is it still gives a awesome rush! Going through those tunnels in the dark were awesome, it was just a litle rough, but not enough to lower the rating.

This coaster is definately a hoss, its probably the only rattly roller coaster that I really really enjoy. I can only imagine what this thing was like back when it opened, as I didnt get on it until the late 90s or so. Since Millenium Force drops you at such a steep angle, this is still the best tummy tickler of a ride in the park, and the fact that it feels like your doing a hundred miles an hour while your on it makes it well worth riding. Just be careful, it does shake you quite a bit.
