Liked it a lot, but Tower of Terror at MGM will always be the ride that hooked me to drop rides. This is my favorite of the S&S rides and I really cant wait to ride and see some bigger ones since they are so much fun! The freefall towers like Drop Zone are my favorite overall besides TOT, but this ones fine with me. Hypersonic looks the best!
I only rode the red tower. It was awesome. Just as good as the Big Shot. Fun!
After riding Maliboomer at DCA, Double Shot at Indiana Beach, and Dr. Doom at IOA, you would think I would be ready for something like this. No way now! When we did the upshoot side, I was all excited about this since it was bigger and faster than the others I had been on, but both when it shot up and was pushed down, I really hurt my neck both times. Usually, Im good with any type of ride that jerks you like this, but I didnt find this to be comfortable at all and it made me feel bad for a good part of the day. I was going to give it a 1, but Im giving it a 3 since Im sure its not that bad for most people. Does anyone know a better way I can ride next time? I thought I was in there the right way, but maybe my restraint was too low for the airtime since they do staple a lot. Thanks for listening and I hope I have more fun on Supreme Scream or I might not do one of these again.
I only rode the shoot-em-up side (I never made it back for the shoot-em-down, although I intended to). The Power Tower was certainly a thrill, but I guess it just didnt spin my beanie all that much. It definitely fell short of my expectations. Maybe its that I rode Wicked Twister before the Tower; the Twister clearly delivers far more thrills, speed, and intensity--and that obviously raises the bar for comparisons. Whatever . . . Power Tower was fun, but it hardly matched the exitement of Cedar Points better rides.
Ok, this would be my rating for the Red Tower (launch up), but Green should get like an 8, because the negative Gs are overpowering! From the first launch, I dont think the ride let up at all. My favorite thing to do with the Green Tower is to just completely relax until the rides over- you get some awesome airtime and you can easily float out of your seat. Definitely on my top-5 list. Red Towers launch is pretty powerful, I mean 55 mph is a pretty quick start for being air-launched! Nothing takes the place of that feeling of extended super-Gs!
The thing that makes this drop tower great is its size. This ride is very tall, very fast and has very nice negative Gs. It provides a view unlike any other in the park. Be sure to ride both sides because each is a totally different experience.
Not as thrilling as Supreme Scream. Not as high as Drop Zone. Not as fun and emmersive as Tower of Terrow. BUT you can either have the space shot experience and get out of control airtime at its peak or the turbo drop which makes for a stunning view at the top. Either way, great height, thrills, and fun are achieved with an outstanding crew and excellent atmosphere only Cedar Point does best. Not the least bit disappointing for drop ride fans! CP will leave you begging for me launched rides in the future with Power Tower and Wicked Twister rising at the park this season!
This is a good Tower. You get dropped down or shot up. What more could you want.
The best tower Ive been on and whats more is youve got a choice whether you want to go up or down.
What a rush. This was the first S&S ride I had been on, and I loved it. It is in a great location, allowing for riders to see the entire park, as well as across Lake Erie.
