A fun and interesting ride. The first half of the ride includes twists and turns through a village. But after the second chain lift, we come to the best part of the ride--the plunge toward the river. Its a very cool and fun drop. After some more twists and turns, the rides over. I like it when the train swings around. The ride lost a point because I got some headbanging in spots and the rides a bit short. Overall, pure fun!

The Big Bad Wolf is the perfect example of why I love Busch Gardens Williamsburg. And its not even the parks best coaster, but it does give you an experience that would be hard to find anywhere else. A suspended terrain coaster that flies through a Bavarian village then dives to a river. Try finding that in the Coaster Capital or in California. After dropping off of the short lift hill the train seems to be suddenly possesed with a violent intense amount of speed that seems to come out of nowhere. It still surprises me everytime I ride it. Maybe its common for suspended to seem faster than they are but it makes 45mph feel a lot faster. As you swing through the village (built just for the ride) you can see lights on in windows and other props that add to the effect of a village in fear of the wolf. Next the train comes out of the village, slows to a crawl and then hits the next lift. The second, much longer lift used to have speakers with wolves howling unfortunately I noticed they had been removed on my last visit. Big Bad Wolf feels pretty isolated even though its right there in the park. This is thanks to BGW having so many trees and the rolling topography. Finally, you crest the second hill and dive towards the Rhine River. Right above the river you swoop to the left, take a few more swinging turns and youre back at the station. So why only a seven? The ride is a little rough and may be showing its age some. It also feels a little short even though its much longer than a lot of rides. Also, on a night trip through the village I wasnt as blown away as I used to be, though I couldnt put my finger on why. Overall though, the Wolf is still way more inventive and interesting than your average steel coaster. I wish more coasters were themed this well. FINAL GRADE - 7.5 (Good-Approaching Great)

Whoa, thgis ride is scary as hell. I hated it at first, but grew to know and love it the more I rode it. This was my major coaster ever. I would like to see a new suspended coaster because these are unique with the swinging cars. They add a lot of excitement to this ride.

The way this coaster "swings" sets it apart from others. It has a very unique feel to it. The "village" is very well themed, and riding over the river is also fun. However I would have enjoyed some bigger drops and higher speeds.

I hate to say it--but this big bad wolf has a bark bigger than its bite. This coaster has so much unused potential it almost makes my cry...While the design is great and the ride is very well themed, half of the time on the ride is spent on TWO lift hills...this ride wouldve received a hire rating if only it were longer...definately try this coaster if theres a short line--but if you have to wait more than 10 minutes to ride this, move on--there are more important things to see at BGW...

Big Bad Wolf is a great ride that almost everyone will enjoy. As the ride swings through a well-themed the Bavarian Village, every rider is laughing as Arrow provides one of the most enjoyable experiences you will ever have on a coaster. The helixes and the swinging never seem to end until you approach the second lift hill. It lifts you up very slowly so you have time to prepare for what’s next. Knowing this was a suspended coaster, I didn’t really expect much of the next drop, but I was proved to be wrong. The plummet into the ravine is surprisingly intense and provides a well-suited great ending for a great roller coaster.

Awesome finale, great coaster. The way they utilized the suspended coasters ability to swing sideways is just amazing. The final drop and turn are amazing, but after that the next few turns are just at sucj high speeds that it makes it seem rough and far too fast. Thats all that keeps it from a 10. Must Ride.

Maybe its because Im shorter then most people. Maybe its that Im not as picky as some people. I dunno. Whatever it is, I thought this was a very good ride. There was a 10 minute wait for this. Which was okay because I just talked to my good friend sean. BBW was great but sean said it got even better at night. BBW at night is... well, its another ride altogether. Super fast, super swings, super scary!!! Its no wonder this coaster is so popular with the public and enthusiasts alike. I also really liked the theming on this ride. It was really cool to fly through a village with tons of near misses. The wolfs sign looked fantastic also. The drop down near the river right after the second lift was probably the highlight of the ride though. I would have liked the drop without brakes though. After that you just slowly swing into the station. So, this is a very fun ride, but probably my least favorite of all the coasters at BGW.

This ride gets a 10 not because its overall one of the best ever but because it is by far the best of its type EVER! The suspended coaster, such a promising type of ride yet so many of them dissapointed so greatly, in fact every single one of them has except The Big Bad Wolf! The wolf theme wise is what every ride should be, great story, beautiful landscape, details beyond details. Now the ride. It gives a solid thrill but where it fails is they relent just as they are on the verge of ultimate greatness. You climb the first hill and have no idea what to expect because this ride is hidden in the woods. Than BAM! You pounce into a beautiful bavarian villiage at what seens to be a relentless pace, you almost cant believe you are getting this from such a coaster......than it lets up...... all the sudden BAM it accels again giving you the same shock but once again very quickly lets up.....In your mind you think "come on that was just getting good" than you climb way up and glance to your lift to see a lift hill dropping over a river, what? Creep around the bend than BAAAAAMMMMMMMM drop at what seems again to be a relentless pace over the rine river wipping into a POWERFUL turn that just as you want to call it the best ride ever it lets up.......now your left pondering "this could have been a king but its just a prince" I put it at #10 on my top ten because no other coaster will make you feel that thrill even if its for a ever so brief period of time. My only wish is they would remake this ride into what it truly could be....lets call it "The Bigger Badder Wolf". This is a ride that was on the verge of greatness but falls short. I could picture a version of this ride how it should be and it would be the best coaster ever!!!!

Big Bad Wolf is probably the second most wild and intense coaster that Ive ridden next to Raptor. The first drop is quite small, but the train just rips through the village with incredible force and fury. The near misses are excellent and the spiraling helix was incredibly out of control. The drop down to the Rhine was better than I imagined and the swinging after it...WOW! So why an 8? Too short! The ride could have gone on much longer before the second lift, and I was very upset that the ride was over so soon. Still, its a wild, intense, and fun ride. I had to sit out for a little while afterwards!
