I like these, and this one is fun and there is usually not too long a wait, sometimes none at all.

Now I usually enjoy these trabant flats and wipeout flats to death; I really do. However, as with any attraction, there are bound to be some shall I say mediocre examples out there that just are a disappointment when compared to others of the breed. Well congratulations Great Escape, you have the dubious honor as the home of the worst trabant I’ve encountered in my travels.

Located in the Storybook area of the park hidden among the trees, the Trabant apparently replaced the park’s classic tea cup attraction, and honestly I have feeling this attraction’s predecessor was a far more enjoyable attraction. Anyway, this did seem to be fairly well maintained and the aforementioned trees really made this attraction look nice. Not only that, but lines were non-existent for this all day. Just be warned though, Six Flags vigorously enforces a double rider policy so take heed single riders, you need a partner to ride this!

Once seated with your partner and after a long safety check (this is standard for all versions of these trabant-type attractions I find), the ride begins. However, that’s where this version goes downhill when compared to far better versions. The major issue I have with this one is its speed, or lack there of. This one just seemed to be running a good deal slower than all other versions I’ve been on, leading to no air being provided at the apex of the rotations and only very weak laterals being provided during the attraction. But, the park did run a fairly long cycle way back in 2000, as it was run both forwards and backwards, and apparently Six Flags stopped running it that way in recent years like most parks have.

Unfortunately, the Trabant is a pretty poor attraction thanks to its incredible slow speed. That leads to very little thrill and excitement being provided on what is usually one of my favorite type of flat rides. Because of this issue, this one sits in the basement on my list of best trabant attractions even despite its pretty darn long cycle. Due to its shortcomings, this is a passable attraction that really should only be given a shot after conquering the park’s far more enjoyable attractions.

This is a pretty good Trabant. It would be better if they ran it in more directions.

The Trabant is a good flat ride and the light show works well on this example. But the Great Escape version loses a point because there is no sound show and (although this ride can run in four different ways) they only run it one direction with the top going forward and the base going backward.

This ride is very unimpressive IMO. The reason I gave it such a low score is because when it came, it reaplaced my favorite ride of all time. Old School Teacups! I miss those things so much!

Its a great ride to go on, especially since there is usually a short line.

Ill never like this ride since it replaced a great fantasy themed "tip top" spinning cups ride. Poor replacement.

Its your basic rulet wheel or whip out. this is fun but very small and a bit uncomfertable. Dose good a good rides and is run faster then some newer modles.
