A good wooden coaster with a fast firt drop, but it loses a few points due to Six Flags lack of maintenence. This ride needs to be refurbished, then it would be a great wooden coaster, not just a good one.
I think for some reason that the blue train is smoother than the red one. The blue train is fun, but the red train hurts badly.
As people have said before, Rolling Thunder desperately needs a retracking and much, much better maintenence. Six Flags is so lazy, and it really is so frustrating to guests. They closed one side and dont even touch the other. It will throw you around a bit, and going up the chainlift sounds like the thing will fall apart any second. If Six Flags doesnt do something, this coaster should go down. Not horrible, but still really dissapointing and sad.
I didnt think any park could care so very little about one of their coasters. But apparently six flags does not care about this ride at all becuase its runs terribly. I think the whole ride needs to be retracked. I think as well that its not the best design to begin with.
A ride in desperate need of a paint job and better maintainance, include some grease to quiet down the squealing. its fine to run only one side if there is no line, but I waited 15 minutes on a slow day within only 10 people ahead of me. the trains bounce (not glide) over the hills and dips where there used to be air time. Truly sad what has become of this coaster
I loved it. A little rough through the coarse, but hey, who doesnt like to get banged around a little? Good side is that it has very nice air time. My sunglasses were floating in mid air for 3 seconds down the first hill(which is a very cool sight)! The only problem is that they never race them, as flaming0 stated. Good though, not bad enough to tear it down.
Was not really impressed by it. I got a headache from it and bounce around for the duration of the ride. Wouldnt go on it again.
I really dont know how some people consider this one of the better wooden coasters. Especially since Great Adventure which has had a recent surge putting out steel coasters almost every year. This ride is RIDICULOUSLY ROUGH! I was laughing watching my friends head bounce up and down in front of me.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEK. Very squeaky and bumpy! And lucky for me (sarcasm) when I was on it.. the bar opened up! I had to hold on to my friend so I wouldnt fall out! It was crazy! But I got this coupon for a free ice cream thing at dippin dots so its all good lol. Yeah but other than that, its ok.. but like I said its squeaky and bumpy, and dont be surprised if you get a headache.
good ride, but bad service/ maitenence. First of all, when i went, the line was relatively short but only ONE TRACK and ONE TRAIN WAS RUNNING! i waited about 45 min to get on! also, They NEVER race them either! That would make the ride twice as fun! sure they race them like 2 days of the season or something but it should ALWAYS be racing! if there were more trains and they raced it would be a 10 though.
