Meah. This ride was good. Nothing special though. I dont know why but this one just didnt do it for me. I had really high expectations when it first came out but I must say I was a bit let down. Good coaster but a bit forgettable. Its been a couple years since Ive ridden it so I should probably give this ol girl a re-ride.

Hey, Im only a kid and I gotta say--Medusa packs quite a wallop! The first drop isnt as gut wrenching as other drops but its still silky smooth and fun. As other people have said, the heartline camelback is the best part of the ride. Dont get me wrong--the other loops are awesome. I havent found a bumpy part on the ride so you can just sit back and relax. The corkscrews are fun too. Unfortunately, this is one of those coasters thats still good, but cant be compared well with superior attractions. Theres a lot more of those rides out there.
One way or another, I still love this ride.

7/20/06: I just rode this again on Monday and I feel compelled to raise the rating from an 8 to a 10. Im not sure why, but it felt a LOT more intense than I remember it being last September. However, you absolutely MUST, MUST, MUST sit in the front row, preferably one of the end seats, for the best experience. The middle rows, while still fun, just lack the intensity and views of the front, and the back row can be a little rough over some of the inversions. Anyway, on with the review (everything from a front row perspective). The first drop, while not normally the highlight of floorless/invert coasters, is actually one of the best parts of this ride. It lasts so long, and you can really feel the car gaining speed while the wind practically makes your eyes water. The inversions on Medusa are intense, but extremely smooth. I normally dislike corkscrews (to me, theyre usually rough and not fun), but Medusa pulls them off flawlessly with absolutely no pain or headbanging. Also, throughout the ride, you seriously feel like your feet are going to hit the track, and Im just over 5 feet tall- I can only imagine how this would feel to anyone even taller! Medusa is a must-ride at Great Adventure, but remember: You MUST sit in the front row!

This ride is fun but not very intense and doesnt pack much of a punch. I like Batman The Dark Knight at Six Flags New England better because its more intense. I dont really feel bad if I dont get to ride it during a visit, because its a fun ride, but IMO, not a must-ride.

This ride is incredible. I love that huge first loop because not only does it give you the upside down effect you also get a nice drop coming out of it. Then you got the dive loop which is pretty cool. And then you get the best part of the ride. The Zero G roll. And then you got the photo and then the Cobra roll. Evrything on this ride is just amazing. Although it is a little anoying at the end if youre sitting right before the station. And everybody starts like flipping their seat bealts and it makes that annoying clicking noise. Anyway great ride and must ride and six flags. After nitro.. and kingda ka.

One of my favorite floorless coasters on the planet. This one can rank up with the greatest floorless out there. The line moves fast. They seat either 32 or 36 I cannot remember and the ops are usually amazingly quick loading and unloading the ride. The seats are very comfortable and had some places to move. The only problem with the seats is hand room to stick your hands up. Ok back to the ride. The lift hill moves smoothly at decent speed and you get a nice view of the safari. Usually the monkey area is the closest area. After that comes the drop into the first loop. Man that loop is huge. Following that is the Zero G Roll which was awesome. Right after that you pick up speed and go into a cobra roll. Then comes a few corkscrews and the brake run to end the ride. I will settle with a 9 because I feel its not perfect but nearly perfect.

I cant really add anything in my review that hasnt been said already. Smooth ride? Check. Lots of excitement? Check. Inversions out the wazoo? Check. One thing thats only been mentioned rarely in the reviews for this is how long the ride is. Like Nitro, you get a decent bang for your wait time. I went on Medusa two weeks back and, after having not ridden it for about four years, had forgotten about that. Just when I assumed the ride would be ending, the second half began. Theres a good variety of inversions on this, too. Its not just one vanilla loop after another. The third inversion is the best, so when the ride starts, count along. This is the best overall coaster Ive been on, bar none.

This coaster rocks! The first loop is gaping, and the third inversion does this sorta twisty, sorta direction changing thing - hard to describe, but it was a great effect. It has trim brakes about 2/3 of the way through, but it re-accelerates. All the lopping at a fast pace combines beautifully with the floorless part.
