I have a great story to tell about an AMAZING ride! Early in the morning me and my friend got in line, after about 20 minuets we got out and when to a smaller coaster because no trains were even testing on it. We come back around noon and see that they are testing it. It made it over succssfully once and the crowd went INSANE next time it rolled back so onward we went. We came back around 4 and said forget it, its runningwere riding reguardless of the wait. We waited 5 minuets outside the queue because they were only letting so many people in the queue after a successful ride, we get in the queue and took the advice of the paddleboat excursions captin who said to break to the right when the line spilts cause its shorter,we did and there was NO ONE in the back and we got on and sat 2nd to last seat. TTD is an AMAZING themed ride, sound effects, smoke, and the christmas tree lights not to mention train shape make this ride feel like a drag race. your picturegets taken right away but its still difficult to pose on. This ride is the shortest and most intense coaster I have been on. Props to Cedar Point for a 25 million well spent!

Well, as soon as I rode it I thought this ride was absolutly terrific. I couldnt stop making positive comments about it. But after a couple of years, and going out and experiencing other full length coasters (meaning, ones more than 17 seconds), I realize that 17 seconds was a waste compared to he near 3 minutes of joy I recieve on rides like Montu and the Hulk.

I like the launch, yes, but what a waste of the speed. One stinking top hat? I know there is the whole price tag, but of course Cedar Point only cared about claiming the height and speed record so they just said screw the quality and lets go for some records. That theory worked with the Force, but unfortunatly failed miserably with Top Thrill Dragster. What once was a ten has now fallen to a 7, and may continue to fall.

Simply amazing. Words cant describe how awesome it is. Simply put, Top Thrill Dragster is more intense, more exhilarating, and more fun to watch than any other roller coaster on the planet. Its very short, but the speed, height, and intensity more than make up for it. Cedar Point did an excellent job with the theming of the ride - the whole area around Top Thrill Dragster is really exciting now. Its like youre really watching a race. It may have too much downtime, but when its running correctly, its a capacity machine - it only took 45 minutes to wait through the entire queue. This is becuase when its running right, it works like clockwork - as soon as one train finishes, another train is almost about to launch already. Its amazing, exciting, and the only reason its not my number one coaster is that its only 20 seconds long.

this has to be one of the best coasters ive ridden, i just came back from cedar pt, i went for 3 days and all 3 days it was open but i only rode it 2 times , because on the last day the line was too long, the wait wasnt bad an hr both times, the first time you ride this baby, it gets you, the launch is absolutely amazing, and thats worth the whole trip, i loved it , i wish i could get more air time but the speed is incredible and id ride this coaster anytime, and for anyone who hasnt ridden it yet, this is a must ride, and its worht the wait!

Times ridden: 1 ~ Ride experience: 10 ~ Layout: 7 ~ Thrill factor: 10 ~ Airtime: 7 ~ Landscaping: 9 ~ Evaluation: WHAT A RUSH!!! TTD is the most insane coaster Ive ever been on. 120mph in less than 4 seconds, up a 420ft tower, spiraling down that same tower at 120mph. Amazing. This ride shouldnt be missed by anyone visiting the Point.

This ride soars with MF above all other competition. Before my story Id just like to thank and praise Intamin AG for being the gods of roller coaster designing, and second, I have to wonder, why there arent other giga and strata coasters popping up anywhere else, becuz these things are the way to go. Back to the review tho.....Id been at CP two days prior to the day I got on it, and was very down that it hadnt been working either day. So on the third and final day of our trip, we decided to do the beach adn water park, that was fun, and I had almost forgotten my dissapointment when Dragster started testing again at about 6:45 while we were in the water park. Then 5 minutes later there was a tester on it. Then five minutes later there was a full load. Needless to say, me and my friends sprinted to are cars for are money and then ran to the ride. We got in line at about 7. We waited about 10 minutes, and then it broke down. Then we waited, and waited, and waited, until 9:15, when my mom came ovre to the line. Then she waited with us for about half an hour. Finally she gave up and said she was going to get her money back, because she had been guaranteed a ride. Me and two of my friends went with her, but one of my friends (Demonrules) stayed inline. We got to the guest relations and we got a comments sheet. Then we decided wed try to catch one last ride on MF. It was about 5 til so we began to run. Then I saw TTD testing again, I knew it would open. I took off at a dead sprint from the guest relations office to TTD. Im guessing thats about an 800 meter run, and I think I prolly ran it in about a 2:00.(If your not in track, that is very good for a sophomore in highschool in track) Plus I was in sandals. All I know is that I ran with a vigour that Ive never ran with before. I finally got to my friend standing inline. I was out of breath, so I just stood there a little while. Then we saw it test a couple more times empty. Finally there was a full train, and a few minutes later we were let in. We were walked up to a nearly empty station, and then we got into a line. We were third in line, and after a few delays we got on. Now the ride is just out of this world. U role out of the station and sit on the starting positoin for a while as u hear engies revving. Then u see the brakes drop and the lights on the tower drop. Now u launch, and boy o boy do u launch. U go faster and faster amd fatser. U are simply glued to ur seat. Finally u finish the launch and it feels almost like the ride has broken, becuz it such a loss of acceleration. Then u begin a very rapid climb to the top of the tower. It seems like no time until your on top of the world looking down on Gods green earth. Not only are u 420 feet above the ground though, ur also floating out of ur seat the entire time you are cresting the top, an amazing feeling to say the least. Then u head downward into the spiral. The spiral just makes u feel like you have no control over what is going on around you. It is just chaos. U hit the brakes at the bottom, and the ride is done. Sure its only 17 seconds, but it is 17 seconds of andrenaline junkie nirvana. A must ride, no matter what the wait is, u have to experience this thing. And also be a man and keep your hands up the whole time. It really makes the top and spiral down out of control. Get out and ride this beast!

This ride leaves me at a loss of words. Its just something you need to go and experience for yourself. I could go on and rant and rave about how incredible the ride is, but I dont think it needs any convincing for you to understand that this is a spectacular ride. All I can say is that it is definately worth any wait no matter how long the line, and it is a must ride under any circumstance.

UPDATE: There is an aspect of the ride that I think really adds to the anticipation and thrill of the ride, even if it wasnt designed to work that way... The fact that the Dragster does not always make it over the top every time really keeps you guessing. It leaves a bit of doubt in your mind each time you ride as you wonder if you are going to make it over or not. Its almost a game while waiting in line guessing if the Dragster is going to make it.

So why dont I give the ride a ten? Because my ratings are relative to other rides. And at the time I wrote this review, TTD was one of a kind. However, once the excitement of this being new and revolutionary wears off, the ride wont seem as amazing.

Do I ever have the story to tell. Me and a few friends of mine took a 3 day trip to Cedar Point, only to have TTD closed for the first 2 days. The third day we were there we decided to chill at the beach(TTD once again closed) and went to Soak City at about 5. Then at around 6:30, we noticed TTD testing....with a tester! We ran as fast as we could out of the water park....soaking wet, and bought a night pass to CP and got in line by 7. The ride opened at around 6:45....but broke down at around 7:30....before we even had the chance to get into the cue line. So we waited, and waited....and waited. Did I mention we waited? The ride had 1 succesful test....but then followed with a roll-back. This caused almost everyone in the cue to leave, but we still held strong. 9:30 came, and my friends decided they had had enough, and left for a final ride on Millenium Force. But I held strong by myself. It had to be like 9:59, when all of a sudden a test went succesfully. Then another, and then another. Did I mention another? After the 6th test.....they loaded riders! Everyone within sight of the ride let out an uproarious cheer. Soon after, (my friends frantically ran back to get in line with me...by the way) the cue was once again opened, and we went straight into the station. Keep in mind, its now like 10:30, but the amazing crew never gave up, and stayed with us and let us ride. We got on, and good god, it was the most amazing experience I have ever had. The pre-launch anticipation is almost too much, and I am at a loss for words to describe the launch itself. It is the most amazing sensation of speed I have ever felt, except for the drug itself. The ride up the tower is incredible, the crest is air time heaven, and the spiral is downright glorious. This is one of, if not the best roller coaster I have ever been on, and the 4 hour wait was more than worth it. This was the greatest experience I have ever had in ANYTHING non herbal, and I am forever indebted to the people of Cedar Point for building the ride, and the operators for working 4 hours to get the ride working again. Other parks may have given up, but the amazing people at Cedar Point put the customer first, and this amazing ride is a testament to how great of a park it is.
