The best ride ever. It is soo much fun being blasted 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and the spiral is awesome. the stall on the straight part is also much fun. It is really cool seeing people whirr by in line, and overall an amazing ride. The best place to ride is the front seat, because you get a great view, and the spiral is much cooler. It is sooo much more intense in the front seat and when you get to the top of the spiral you can actually see the top and it looks like you will fly off. The back seat is very fun as well, especially when you hold your arms out in front of you the whole time even during the brake on the back spike. It is a great ride.

This ride is one of the best of its kind. It is very very smooth, and when they brake you on the back spike it is just insane. Must Ride!

get over it. there are many rides that r exactly like it. just go to six flags worlds of adventure and u find one just like that called super man: ultimate escape. same hight, same speed, same brake at the top. but there is an even better ride at cedar point called wicked twister. its 30 feet taller, and a little faster. both sides spiral, which is much better. however it is missing the brake in the back, which is the only bad thing, but the rest is alot better. but i kno its a sweet ride so i give it an 8

This ride rocks! Its very smooth, and it was a big surprise when they hit the brakes at the second time up the straight end. I would recommend setting in the mid front.

BEST DAMN RIDE IN THE WORLD...or at least in the Twin Cities. I will never forget the first time I went on that. I was starting to have doubts and I felt like I wanted to shout out to someone to just let me off. Im glad I did not. It is very, very fun and too short. Anyone who comes to Valleyfair has GOT to try this one!

This ride is defenentaly the best ride Ive been on in my entire life. The brake on the back tower was a suprise because I came on a day when we didnt have to wait in line so I never saw it run till I was on it. I also liked that it launches before the countdown is done. (Note: Review was written before my trip to CP)

I really enjoyed this ride. I love the feeling in my stomach when its launched backwards. I also agree with what another reviewer said about spectators. This is a very spectator friendly ride, and its fun to watch before or after your ride. However, its even more fun at night, so go then. The tracks lit up and its a real pretty site.
I reccomend the back seats BTW.

I was there yesterday (6/9/03) and I say that it is one of the best. Valleyfair needed a ride like this but It doesnt beat out Power Tower. I would pick this ride over wild thing for 2 Reasons..the speed and the overall thrill. Wild thing doesnt offer anything but speed and a handful of airtime. Although airtime is important, I find that shooting straight up into the air backwards, stopping, then falling again is great. Power Tower does offer you a giant drop but not much time, and a long waiting line. Steel Venoms line is long but takes only minutes til your 185 feet straight up and locked staring down on the second backward launch. And for all you people that say there are ones just like this, and better, well thats just your opinion, most people on this site are neutral riders and dont spend time "going" places, they enjoy convenience parks not ones they gotta take effort to get to

Steel Venom is the best of its kind. The color scheme of the ride makes it look like candy. It just looks very slick..Especially the trains. As far as I know this is the only one that spectators can stand right next to the train for the launch. Also you can stand almost directly under the twist. This is one of the most intense thrill rides on the market and it is an excelent and smart choice for the park. Im sure it will be a suprise hit with the locals.
