The Wild Cat is a wood twister roller coaster. It was built in 1996 by GCI. It was designed by Clair Haine/Mike Boodley. It is 90' tall, it is 3,183' long, it travels at speeds of 50 mph. It is fun, rerideable, fast, it has a large capacity, and it has a long duration.
Wow, very good drop. Its is so much fun. The Wildcat is very fast and fun. It is shaky, as expected in any wooden coaster. This coaster is highly recommended.
Great wood twister. After the first drop, it just seems to go out of control. The first time I rode this, I was laughing by the end of the brake run. Wood coasters just have that "out of control" feeling that steelies dont have generally.
As with most GCI coasters, it exits the station and turns into a little bunny hop. Climbing the lift, youll get a good view of Midway America before being turned into the drop, which is insane. Youll climb back up into a curve which offers great laterals. Then, youll give underneath the lift and get a jolt of air while doing so. Its up another hill quick which offers some great air going down. Another turn with great laterals is next, before you climb another hill and then go down it where it turns to the right. Going down this hill seems impossible to navigate as it twists so sharply and is so steep. It offers insane laterals and airtime before turning, where the is a little downhill where it gives another dose of airtime. Before you know it the Wildcat is encountering more twist and turns than you can count and its back up into the brake run. Throughout all this, the train is shaking and the ride is out of control, in a good way. Insane laterals, speed, and out-of-control airtime makes this one of my favorite woodies.
Wild Cat is a good twister coaster. Theres rapid change in direction and in speed. Its a bit bumpy, but still gives a great twisted ride.
Perched on a hill above the Midway America section of the park, this is one of the most majestic sights in the coaster world – especially at sunset. From its sweeping, spiraling first drop to the reversal of directions and wild banked turns – this is a winner and a coaster to emulate. GCI may very well be THE best wood coaster designer around. It is worth mentioning that this company was born out of CCI and does what they do with a greater sense of aesthetic. We need to see A LOT more from them.
It wasnt that good, i mean it twisted and turned alot. But i didnt really feel the speed of it either. And the first drop wasnt as good as i thought it would be.And it was more that too bumby. Not as good as Lightning Racer!
Flawless resurection of a ghost. This coaster just lives its curves and drops. Superb.
This is a really great woodie. Its got speed, air and gs. The layout is perfect and I especially liked that surprise ending (atleast it was a surprise to me). The first drop on this is one of the best I have experienced on a woodie. Must ride!
What a ride! Ive never been on a woodie like this! Every other woodie ive been on is always and out and back, maybe a figure 8 type out and back but still...an out and back. This was my first twister woodie and wow does it rock! Its like a modern Crystal Beach Cyclone, only it doesnt kill you and its not as extreme; It looks similar though.
