This was my first time on one of these rides. Not tremendously thrilling, but it has historical value and is in excellent condition. The canvas cover is also great protection from inclement weather. As soon as it closed it started raining really hard, and there wasnt a leak to be had.
APPEARANCE: Canobie keeps this ride in tip-top shape and therefore its not a surprise that Canobie is one of the few parks that still run this ride with a canopy, and while the canopy has quite a few holes in it, it really adds to the rides appearance and the whole ride just fits in with the overall feel of Canobie.
WAIT TIME: Walk On- Usually this is a walk-on thanks to its high capacity. Loading is considerably fast as well.
RIDE: Well, the ride had decent speed and nice laterals considering its age, but they still were no where near the intensity of newer himalaya. Still thats expected because of the rides age and the park runs a long cycle on this and the canopy really makes this ride funner.
FINAL VERDICT: While not nearly as exciting as newer himalayas, this still is a great old classic that warrants a ride or two while at the park, especially considering that its a rarity nowadays.
Ive never seen one of these anywhere else with the cover like that. Interesting ride, and kept up very nice. The line usually doesnt seem to be bad for it either.
this ride is in exelent condition. a real treasure to see. i must give the park props for preasurving a historic yet fun ride like this. i only wish more parks would take the hint (ahh hmm six flags ahh hmmm paramount ahh hmm)
Fun ride, glad to see a park preserving amusement history. Not worth a terribly long wait, but fun just the same.
This ride was great and it had a nostalgic feeling.
I was so happy to get to ride this seeing as though there are only a handful left. This ride was a lot of fun, and I was thrilled to see that canopy is in operation. This ride is one that Im sad has dissapeared from so many parks. Im glad Canobie has one though! While not very thrilling, its still a nice, nostalgic experience, and it is need when the canopy goes down.
This is a cool make out ride..If only it wasn;t so darn bumpy. That could be kin-
Er, what, oh..anyway This ride has great nostalgic feel..yep.
This ride gets a 10 just for the fact that it is a great old ride that still exists. It is so fun and nostalgic. My mother even remembers riding this as a kid at Canobie.
Its definitely fun for what it is. Not worth waiting in a half hour line to ride a stupid caterpillar, but if you can get right on, its cool.
