A fun ride; the canopy is a nice effect. The movement is good but not as fast as other non-caterpillar rides with the same kind of movement. Quite a good ride!

What a treat! Canobie really captures the feel of classic family parks and this ride really represents what Canobie is in my book. This classic is very well kept and one of the few that still has a working canopy. The whole ride is very smooth (I was expecting somewhat of a bumpy ride), and while slower than newer himalayas, it had laterals up there with some of the best of them. But the highlight by far was the canopy. It was really cool and I really felt as if I was getting digested by a caterpillar. Canobie also ran a pretty long cycle to boot. If you ever end up at this quaint little park, dont even think of skipping this rare and delightful classic.

I just had to ride this classic while at Canobie and I can say that it is pretty cool. The canopy really was a nice effect and it was my main enjoyment on the ride as the himalaya part wasnt as fast as on others.

I dont see what the big deal is. Its old and slow. The laterals are pretty weak and the whole ride was very bumpy. It had no wait though.

Its a great classic ride that looks great. Canobie is one of the few parks that still has the canopy operating, but it does have a few holes which ruins the effect. This one was pretty fast though and it had a long cycle.

The Caterpillar is a great classic flat ride. I give extreme props to Canobie for still running this classic with the overhead canvas as I cant really think of many other parks that still have that (or this ride for that matter). I have never had to wait for the Caterpillar thanks to its high capacity. Canobie gives very long cycles for the Caterpillar, which is always a plus. The speed was rather slow and the laterals were very weak compared to modern day himalayas (which I didnt really mind because I hate getting slammed against the side during himalayas). Also, the Caterpillar was a bit bumpy. The canvas was cool though and really added to my ride experience. It would have been better if there werent all of those holes in the canvas, but I can look past that because of how Canobie still uses the canvas on their Caterpillar. This is a real treat and a rare classic, but it just isnt as wild as other himalayas out there.

Although this was not the best ridein the world the historic bckground is where the thrills were held for me. These type of rides are almost gone so why not enjoy them while we still can. It keeps a good appearance too not looking old and worn down

Its worth going on. The ride does last fairly long. At full speed it does go fast. Having a cover overhead makes it an interesting experience. The ride is quite bumpy which does take away from the feel of it going up and down. Its worth going on at least once.

Ill give the park props for running a classic (I think this is the only one in the US still running with the canopy). It runs for a long cycle but that can be troublesome if you are a tad claustrophobic, definitely worth a ride for the history.

This is a cool ride, knowing is is one of the few left that has the top that goes over. It also runs very long, and has a cool type of restraint which consists of just a velcrow strap.
