Fun, but not spectacular as it's just like any other swinging ship; there's really nothing to set it apart. Good speed however.
This pendulum is just as good as I've ever seen. It doesn't mess around with a lot of swings at low heights, it gets up there quick and stays up there for a while. Like most of these rides it's usually a walk-on, but this one is different in that it has separate lines for the two sides.
Very good sea dragon. Funtown did a nice job theming the ride as the rides location on the pond was a nice touch. This one wasnt the fastest sea dragon out there, but it traveled fairly high and had good air on the swings. This one was light on sensations though, but it had a fairly long cycle.
APPEARANCE: To date this is the best looking swinging ship I have seen. Around the ride is a small pond with geysers, which add to the rides atmosphere. Also on the ride is a pirate flag, which certainly was a cool touch and not found on the other Sea Dragons Ive come across at carnivals. Also, the dragon boat as always looks very good and detailed.
WAIT TIME: Walk On- Even on busier days, this never has a line, which is cool because its one of Funtowns best rides. The non-existant line can be attributed to the rides high capacity and pretty fast loading.
RIDE: This was my first Sea Dragon and it was certainly a good ride. Compared to the other two pirate ships I have been on (Canobies and Palace Playlands), this one had the most restricting lap-bar, but even still it wasnt uncomfortable. The cycle was fairly good and lasted about 2 1/2 minutes. Like all swinging ships, the best seats are on the end as the swings provide some very good floater air-time during the whole ride.
FINAL VERDICT: This is the best of the swinging ships I have been on to date thanks to its good theming and very good ride. Sea Dragon turned out to be my second favorite flat ride at Funtown (behind Dragons Descent). Anyone who enjoys swinging ships should give this a try if theyre at Funtown.
The best of the versions I rode out East but nowhere close to the versions I consider top notch(IB and MIA).
Agree with Ach. The theming on this ride is great! The ride itself is nothing special, but the fountains and lights really make this ride. Also, this ride has a microphone in the control booth, if you get the right operator in there, this ride can be really amazing. I know I like to play games when i am Oping this ride. Also, if you sit in the back, put your hands above your head, and lift your feet off the floor... well... try it and find out! Its a lot of fun! :-)
its a good ride..but i always always get sick on it..only ride that happens to me too. But, one time I did dance to venga boys the whole ride and it was a wonderful time...um the end
Talk about a well themed ship. Good cue area, boards each side seperatly and allows riders to wait for their favorite seats. Nice dock style entrance and ramps on each side that are sloped for boarding ease. With the right opperator (myself or Evlas) this ride rules. A screaming contest piting one side against the other, often bringing on repeat riders who had intended to make only one stop on their way to Excalibur. Typical Sea Dragon with great themeing, and great opperators.
i dont know why i love this ride so much but other than Excalibur, its the best ride in the park to me. you fly out of your seat and kinda taunt people cause their on the other side of the ship. i dunno, but its an amazing ride
One of the better pirate ships out there. A good amount of air especially in the back rows.
