Review of Wonders of China @ EPCOT

A public relations film by a country that has a terrible humans rights record. WHAT A CROCK ! Slave labor and 80 million summary executions are not shown in this film. 2 thumbs down.

I don’t remember seeing anything on the rape, stealing of land, and slaughter of over a hundred thousand Native Americans (by gun or disease) in the “The American Adventure” either. Not to mention our slavery

Agreed SEAMASTER no different than the France Exhibit or any of the EPCOT movies it shows the good side of China and is a nice show.

Hmmm, sounds like more of a forum topic but... I dont begrudge xDis his (?) flame of this attraction, but while you shouldnt let the good side of history obscure the bad, one shouldnt do the opposite either, knowhudImean? Its a little off to think "The Great Wall of China would have been a true marvel - if it werent for the horrible human rights abuses the Chinese govt does today!" [Now, if youre saying this film is just hacky PR shilling by the China tourism bureau - that may be a good point!] And IIRC, Seamaster, the American Adventure show at Epcot, while it doesnt dwell on them nor show them in all their gory detail, does indeed address Americas sins, like slavery, the slaughter of native peoples (and the disenfranchisement of women, destruction of the environment and such). AA didnt strike me as a whitewash.

It is not disneys place to play politics. nor is a review of an atraction. a poor review with a narow point of view of what disney is trying to show. No country is with out a shamfull past. But lets let the childrin watching learn it in school and from there parints not at a theme park.

I just feel it as an opportunity to see the softer side of these countries. It is a tourists eye view of the country. I do agree AA is historic as it shows the not so perfect side of American History
