Review of Ride of Steel @ Darien Lake
0 Rating Posted by: dJeu on 7/27/2001 7:20:00 PM
The first hill is nice, but it just seems like the rest of the ride was designed merely to help slow the ride down. There isnt anything too different after the first hill that cant be found on smaller rides... Its good, but I cant help feel there should be something more.

Why should I care XtremeFan???? its at SFDL!!
XtremeFan8 on 9/29/2001 8:47:51 PM said:
cuz u always flipout if they say the ride is bad- and he said the ride sux except for the hill
Paul on 9/29/2001 8:53:07 PM said:
NOOO!! The one at SFNE!! This was is VERY different! When I defend SROS Im not defending the other 2! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. This one probably does suck except for the hill looking at the layout.
XtremeFan8 on 9/29/2001 9:05:21 PM said:
aaahhhh yes i did not notice that! and i didnt read ur rev all the way through- my bad- but still its SROS!
Paul on 9/29/2001 10:39:59 PM said:
yeah but its not the same ride at all. I wish the Superman at SFNE wasnt called Superman. It should be called "Sir Air"
Alfungus on 9/29/2001 11:20:27 PM said:
Why cant they give the rides different names completely, i get confused
Paul on 9/30/2001 1:03:20 AM said:
I know really.
XtremeFan8 on 9/30/2001 9:05:56 PM said:
well first off- intamin is dmb for doin that! imean they r not even the same rides- if they were i would understand.
MagnumMan on 7/15/2002 3:07:09 PM said:
thats completly true. I mean look at Warner Bros. Movie World in Spain. They just added another S:ROS that goes upside down and is in no way a hypercoaster! CHANGE THE NAME ALREADY!
smk on 7/15/2002 3:15:03 PM said:
the one in spain is a floorless b&m too
MagnumMan on 7/15/2002 3:40:42 PM said:
I was going to put in my comment that 1- it was floorless and 2- its not even made by Intamin! but I wasnt sure. This is just one more reason why we get confused when a person says S:ROS. Theres 4 across the world!

Xtreme, it isnt intamins fault, its Six Flags...i heard originally nitro was also gonna be a superman ride. Seriously, Six Flags needs a new superhero to theme their rides on. I think they already have enough Batmans and Supermans already
smk on 7/15/2002 7:57:55 PM said:
I agree with B&M Rider...Six Flags is getting out of hand with all their batman and superman-themed rides.
MagnumMan on 7/16/2002 4:28:53 PM said:
Yeah, but what other major superhero can be used when Spiderman and all the villians of each character have been used already? Six Flags tried to use Robin, who isnt that important anyway, to get away from Batman & Superman. Too bad they didnt carry out with it. Maybe Six Flags will sometime create a coaster called "Robin" LOL
B&M Rider on 7/16/2002 5:57:07 PM said:
what about bayne? u know, that really stupid but strong bad guy?
MagnumMan on 7/22/2002 10:58:09 AM said:
...in the movie Batman & Robin?
B&M Rider on 7/22/2002 4:31:46 PM said:
yea i think...whichever one had mr freeze in it
MagnumMan on 7/22/2002 4:37:32 PM said:
yep. but is he worth his own ride?
B&M Rider on 7/22/2002 8:49:50 PM said:
yea of course! hes kinda like the hulk but bad. plus hes a lot better than having another coaster named after batman or superman
MagnumMan on 7/23/2002 11:23:03 AM said:
this is true. lucky for us though, the coasters live up to their names and characters plus, deliver a lot of thrills (Most notibly, Superman Ultimate Flight)
daptwa on 7/24/2002 11:18:56 AM said:
How about Batman The Escape??
MagnumMan on 7/24/2002 11:43:37 AM said:
It looks like a cool ride to go on! But a lot of people say it really hurts and the ride itself (except for the one loop) isnt anything to brag about. Plus, the paint on B:TE thats rusting isnt really inviting. Batman: The Escape DESPERETLY needs a new coat of paint. I still want to go on it though. It looks like it would like up to its name.
B&M Rider on 7/24/2002 4:42:49 PM said:
yea, also it was built by B&M before they left Intamin
daptwa on 7/25/2002 11:38:21 AM said:
I was saying that I dont think that it lives up to its character.
B&M Rider on 7/25/2002 4:14:31 PM said:
yea thats true...and its painted white for no reason either
MagnumMan on 7/25/2002 5:53:56 PM said:
oh, i though thats what you meant. what did you mean then?
DmctNY8 on 7/26/2002 12:14:31 AM said:
Maybe they all have the same name to save money because they dont have to design any new scenary. But for first time park visiters (with no coaster knowledge) going to Six Flags Great Adventure having a coaster called Batman the Ride right next to a coaster called Batman and Robin the Chiller seems kinda wierd.
B&M Rider on 7/26/2002 5:30:13 PM said:
i know that it is pretty much the same themeing for the BTR clones, but for the other superhero themed rides it looks different on each ride. maybe it was just easier for six flags to get rights to copy those few superheros instead of getting rights for all of them
DmctNY8 on 7/26/2002 6:58:27 PM said:
Also Six Flags while they have full Warner Brothers character rights now may want to just but the rights to a few when there contract is up.
MagnumMan on 8/3/2002 2:16:54 PM said:
I understand. It probably just because Six Flags wants to save money.
Red Rascal on 6/18/2003 2:34:55 PM said:
This ride is kick ass!
MagnumMan on 6/18/2003 3:32:56 PM said:
Slow the ride down? Oh Yeah, THATS why the ride has to literally stop on a dime before it reaches the station...
