Review of Chance Menagerie Carousel @ Palace Playland

It's sort of a nice looking carousel, but it doesn't match the building it's in. It's a small carousel in a huge building, which used to house a Philadelphia Toboggan Company hand carved 1909 carousel. The least they could have done was to buy another antique carousel after the other one was sold by it's owner (who lived in California). There are plenty of them in storage. They kept the Artizan Band Organ that used to play with the old carousel. The people that own this park chose to let it sit there unplayed since the old carousel was sold in 1997. It was restored in 1996, and yet one year later, they stop using it. It is one of two Artizan A-1 model band organs left in existance, and they just let it sit there unused. Instead they use a stupid cd recording. This park used to be good at one point, but they keep something good for only a small period of time and get rid of it for something that sucks. It seems to be the Palace Playland way. If they have no plans on using the band organ anymore...why won't they sell it to someone or another park that will? It has taken all kinds of abuse like the metal strip being ripped off as well as other things. Palace Playland doesn't value their history or much else in my opinion.
