Review of Behemoth @ Canadas Wonderland

I was really looking forward to riding what I considered the next gen of B and M hypers with the longer, staggered-seat trains. After two consecutive days at the park I was not disappointed.

Over my two days at the park, we rode Behemoth 9 times. Although the line extended outside the que, our longest wait on the busiest day was only 45 minutes. Our first two rides were in the front (OK, second from front, but with the staggered seating, and it really didn’t make that much of an impact other than saving 10-15 minutes.) I first noticed this ride has a very STEEP lift hill. The first drop was phenomenal, and the compressed hammerhead turn was fast and exciting.

From watching POV videos on line, I thought the MCBR would take way from the ride, but it was much less noticeable than Nitro’s. The positive G’s in the helix built up nicely, and even though there was a short negative G finish before the brake run, I was highly satisfied. Then, my son and I headed to the back seat.

From that point forward, I realized the front seat was for suckers. Our first back seat ride was at night, and from the crest of the first drop, my ass was out of the seat until the bottom of the drop. Each subsequent drop was almost the same – a glorious freefall sensation. My sister and nephew who accompanied us on this trip were front seat junkies, but when I convinced them to ride in the last seat, they agreed- this was a superior back-seat ride.

After multiple rides, you can easily become accustomed (or jaded) to the negative G’s as they are so smooth, hence no 5 rating here. But this is a premiere ride not to be missed in the back seat. If you only experience it once, head for the back. You will surely not forget it. BTW, Nitro doesn't hold a candle to this ride. And don't miss Vortex if you go. But that's another review.
