Review of Shivering Timbers @ Michigans Adventure

This ride has it all. As soon as you leave the station, you swoop around a curve and onto the lift hill. Just...inching...up, you look down and watch the parking lot below get further and further away. Then it hits you. The first drop. It's only about 50 degrees, but it might as well be completely vertical. Screaming your vocal chords out, you thunder over the top and under a few supports, which you almost have to duck to keep them from whamming your cranium straight back. Up again, we have a few seconds to catch our breath 90 feet above the ground and seemingly a few inches above our seats before whamming back down into those PTC cushions and hitting the bottom hard. Zooming back up, there is yet a third huge airtime hill. Swooping back down yet again, we experience a series of three elements not ridden by mankind for years: a double-up, a swooping dip u-turn, and a double-down. What fun. What follows is pretty much standard on all out-and-back rides: dips into the supports followed by more dips into the supports followed by more dips into the supports. There's even a 4th rare element: a section of trick-track that shifts you from side to side. Ending in a 360 degree helix as a grand finale, we are applauding the geniuses at CCI for bringing to the world not a coaster of regular timbers, but a coaster of Shivering Timbers.

Nice review. I have been fascinated by Shivering Timbers since it's creation, and the photos of the out-leg are just amazing. One of these days I will make it out to MA, but until then I have to rely on reviews like this. Welcome to the site and keep 'em coming!

Excellent review and I was really happy to have Timbers running more like its old self last year.
