This was the first time I have been on a...uh, whatever the heck they call this type of coaster. Inverted shuttle? Intimin Special? Oh wait, Impulse, that's right. Anyway, I waited about 10 minutes before boarding. I made sure to get a seat towards the front to get some good spinnage up the twisting spike (the back rows get nothing!)
The launch was not 0-70, at least it wasn't today. The train would haul a-- for a second before letting back, resulting in maybe a 50mph launch. The train makes this weird screaming sound when it launches for some reason, and no it wasn't the just passengers! It was like a demon scream! I'm not sure if the ride is supposed to do that, but it actually added to the experience a bit. lol
The train races about halfway up the twisted spike before rocketing backwards, this time at an easy 70mph, and up the straight spike. The train once again shoots through the station, up the twisted spike (got some major spinnage) and back to the other spike. On the second traveling of the straight spike, the train stops for like a second and hangs riders in mid-air. It's the one time I was glad to have a harness! The train once again tears through the station, up the twisted spike (with spinnage) and slows to a backwards halt. It's kind of fun being stopped backwards and being pressed into the seat.
All in all it was a pretty nice coaster. Gimmicky, yes, but fun and good for a nice rush.
