Review of Dark Knight @ Six Flags Great Adventure
2 Rating Posted by: bumprnugit on 7/31/2008 12:56:00 AM
I really hesitated posting a review of this ride because I found it so middle-of-the-road that it really did not seem to warrant the time or effort. But here I am, posting against my better judgement. So here goes. Fortunately this was a walk-on for me, but the first thing I said after getting of the ride was -Meh-. The pre-ride show (a trend I am really beginning to dislike as it just seems like a hurry-up-and-wait tactic) was enough to keep my attention, but in the end this is just a Wild Mouse in the (sort-of) dark. The on-ride scenery is really uninspired. It reminded me of an OLD arcade game in which you controlled a water cannon atop a ladder truck that actually sprayed H2O at buildings with lit panes of &quot.glass&quot. simulating a raging inferno. Closing your eyes during a &quot.dark night&quot. on any standard Wild Mouse would offer just as much a surprising experience, if not more. The only time I really felt disoriented was when the photo flash temporarily dialated my eyes (had there been strobes throughout the entire course, that would have been quite an experience, although it likely would have set off more than a few seizures.) I recommend riding only if the line is reasonably short, otherwise wait until the hype has passed and get your track credit next year. I will throw a bone here and give B:TDK a generous 7, rating it against it&#39.s peers.
