Review of Turkish Twist @ Canobie Lake Park
1 Rating Posted by: Steve NY on 6/1/2008 9:24:00 PM
Due to a limited amount of time at Canobie, I almost skipped this while there. In fact, I didnt even know that this was a ride until I saw a girl toss her cookies after coming off this (I passed it earlier thinking it was a show and not a ride). Well, Im glad I found this as after a non-existant wait, I walked right on and was treated to a very thrilling ride and easily the best rotor Ive ever experienced. The raw speed that Canobie ran this at was something that I would have expected from a Coney op! The Gs were unbelievable and I got really dizzy, though not as dizzy as on the Break Dance. Also, after reading some of the more recent reviews, it sounds like the park really cut the cycle time down, while when I rode the floor stayed down for around 30 seconds. What a flat that really blew me away!

Canobies Rotor is an SDC model. Most parks have a chance model. The SDC models are much more powerful. The Ride time is shorter. It wasnt the case opening day this year but they tend to adjust the ride length according to the expected attendance at the park that day.

Thanks for the info. I knew it wasnt a Chance just by looking at it, but I didnt know it was a SDC model.

The themeing was done in house after they purchased the ride. The ride was rehabbed about 10 years ago.
