This was one of my favorite coasters when I visited the park. This is the only coaster of this kind in the North East. Superman-Ultimate Flight is based on the DC comics super hero Superman, it defies the laws of gravity as riders fly head first through highly banked curves, spirals, and a jaw dropping, pretzel shaped inverted loop at 60 mph. This roller coaster opened in 2003. This was my first B&M flying coaster I ever rode and I loved it. The first hill is 115 feet tall, the first drop is 100 feet tall. This ride has several elements that make the ride unique. It has a pretzel shaped inverted loop, spiral, horseshoe, and an inline roll. The track length is 2,759 feet of twisting, looping blue, red, and yellow steel. They have three trains especially designed to carry 28 passengers flying four abreast. The ride is fun, rerideable, has a large capacity, and a long ride duration of almost three minutes. The uniqueness about this coaster is you leave the station lying on your stomach. You climb the lift hill of 115 feet dive into a pretzel shaped inverted loop where trains climb to the top of the figure and dive into the loop close to the ground highlighting the feeling of flying. There is a sequence of thrilling curves and dives that include a highly inclined "horseshoe" curve and and a high speed spiral. This is then followed by a 360 degree in line roll right before entering the station. This ride is a must ride at SF Great Adventure. You will not be disappointed.
