I didnt have many expectations going into Revenge of the Mummy. I figured it was going to be pretty good, and I heard multiple comments on the powerful pops of airtime it offers. Still, I wasnt anticipating the ride all that much. I went in with an unbiased, open mind... and then my mind was blown.
Revenge of the Mummy is essentially a relentless bombardment of effects, forces, and images, all jam-packed into what seemed a very fleeting ride experience. The theming was absolute top-notch, as is to be expected from Universal, and it truly felt like you had entered one of the Mummy movies. What a rush. The crowning achievement of this ride, however, is the solid airtime riders get. Hot dayum --- very sudden and powerful ejector airtime is hidden atop a few blessed bunny-hills that occurs so suddenly, riders are flung into the next series of effects before they even know what hit them.
All in all, I gave Revenge of the Mummy a 9 because although the ride was relentless, the pacing left a lot to be desired, IMO. The fake exit platform happened so quickly, I almost missed it. I suppose theres only so much they could pack in, but it seemed to fly through the storyline very rapidly.
Even still, I commend Universal Studios for another truly immersive, top-of-the-line ride experience
