Darien Lakes Giant Wheel certainly lives up to its billing, as it simply towers in the center of the park. This is a great ferris wheel, and it sits as one of the better ones Ive ridden. The placement of the ride is absolutely perfect, as it is right smack in the middle of the park, placed nicely along the edge of the lake. The views on this are magnificent thanks to its lofty height, as you get great views of the entire park (including nice looks at all the coasters) and the surrounding countryside. The cycle is good and it moves at a nice clip. The only slight blemish is the crew, that loads rather slowly (although they do load multiple gondolas at a time). Other than that though, this is a relaxing ride that gives stunning views, which is really what you look for from a park centerpiece like this. Final Rating - 8.5/10
