Review of Route 66 @ Six Flags New England

Route 66 is a nice little set of Antique Cars and one of the few remaining Riverside attractions still at the park. Located among Wiggles World, Route 66 is an Arrow version that has a hidden course through a woodsy section of the park. Six Flags doesnt run too many cars on Route 66 (fewer than what Id expect) and that causes it to have quite a bit of a wait during the day. I went on it very early in the day today and it was a walk-on thankfully. The gas-powered cars are very cramped compared to other antique cars I have been on, but the cars themselves to look nice and are very well taken care of. Also, the cars were pretty quick compared to others. I personally wasnt a big fan of Route 66s layout as it seemed a bit boring. Sure it ran through the woods, but the layout seemed pretty compact and it just really wasnt that unique. One positive about the woodsy setting is that the ride is very well shaded and very relaxing. Along the way are a few sights to see, but not too many. As I have mentioned, the layout was very short. Though its a nice little attraction, Route 66 isnt as good as other antique cars in my opinion because of the short length and rather boring layout. Overall, Route 66 is a very nice, placid attraction that shouldnt be missed by Antique Car fans.

If I remember right the cars are Gould not Arrow. either way I hope with the new coaster reported as being placed in the DC area that Rt 66 will survive a few more years.

I too wish that Route 66 sticks around as it certainly is a nice, relaxing ride and better than the Big Red Cars they added. These cars might not be Arrows, but I remember reading somewhere that this was an Arrow ride so maybe they originally installed the track.

That or simple no one knows Of Gould. I have seen many people talk about arrow car rides that are made by anotehr company. as for now its staying The Dark Night coaster is going were the arena is.

To me the arena wont be a big loss as all three times I visited the park this year, no shows were being offered in the arena.

There arent any Stunt shows running outside of a select few in the chain. Shapiro doesnt like live shows feels they use up too much money. youre going to see a lake of show at SFI parks in the future. Im double sided on the issue. The stunt show though not great was a unique attraction at SFNE something I couldnt get anyone else in New England. So The park is loosing that Value for me. But the land can be better used for multiple attractions instead of one which is a good thing.
