Review of Twister @ Six Flags New England

The Twister at Six Flags New England was my first and definitely not my last top spin. Located in the Rockville U.S.A. section of the park, Twister is a Huss top spin. Everytime I have been on and seen Twister, it has been a walk-on. With two rows each seating 20 passengers, Twister is a capacity machine. The operators are very strict and they enforce a no running or jumping off the platform rule. Out of the two rows, I would say that the front is better because of the view. Restrained by a very tight over-the-shoulder restraint, Twister often gets negative comments about the restraints being uncomfortable. I found that Twisters restraints were a tad bit tight on my thighs, but its not overly bad. The ride attendants were very fast and efficient loading the vehicle as they didnt mess around. Twister is a ride of two faces. There are two programs; a dull one and an intense one. I will review both individually since each gives a different ride.

For my first ride on Twister, I got the dull program. Once the ride began the vehicle lifted and did 2 flips that were very intense and had some good hang-time. Unfortunately, that was basically the ride. After that it just went around one more time (with no flips) and then it gave one final tease just as the ride ended. This cycle provides two intense and thrilling flips, but the ride needs more. 6 out of 10

And then theres program eight, the intense one. It was a Saturday and I hadnt been expecting the intense program. I was caught off-guard once the ride began. This time Twister began by holding everyone upside down for quite a few seconds, providing some amazing hang-time. Then came the two or three amazing flips as I had gotten on my first ride on Twister. Following that was a quick tease and then just before the ride ended, it hung us upside-down again for quite a bit giving more incredible hang-time. The cycle still unfortunately was rather short, but unlike the other program, the entire ride was very eventful and there was no dull moment. 10 out of 10

Twister is my first top-spin and I hope others are just as good. Hopefully Six Flags will use the thrilling and amazing program 8 more often than the dull one. Ill average the rating out for now until Six Flags runs program 8 more often. Any top-spin lover shouldnt dare miss Twister.
