Review of Catwomans Whip @ Six Flags New England

Catwoman’s Whip really is the forgotten coaster of Six Flags New England in my opinion. First off, Bizarro simply makes every other ride featured in DC Superhero World forgettable. Second, the attraction simply is lackluster when compared to the park’s other, far more thrilling attractions. Hey, at least this has a definite name now (remember the Poison Ivy’s Tangled/Twisted Train identity crisis this attraction used to have).

Six Flags really has made the ride fit in. The ride has very nice landscaping that hides the layout from view and makes it more exciting than the standard tivoli coaster. Despite it having a standard layout, all of the swooping drops and low-to-the-ground turns are all well hidden and therefore quite surprising, though Six Flags seemed to trim the plants significantly this year and ruined the effect somewhat. Anyway, this generally is a walk-on thanks to the large train and the more popular neighbor that dominates the park’s skyline.

In the back, the first two drops have some great speed due to the abnormally long train resulting in some powerful laterals on the way down. However, the train’s long length also leads to the ride being painfully slow at points as well. That being said, the few low-to-the-ground turns are decent, albeit slow, but definitely are a pleaser for the kids, this ride’s target audience. One final note, the front is definitely the seat for the less adventurous since the train’s long length prevents front-seat riders from truly experiencing the few, gentle drops Catwoman has to offer.

Catwoman's Whip is a decent family coaster in my opinion since it has something for everyone. The front is slow and suitable for the smallest of riders, while the back actually is a surprisingly intense ride despite its size thanks to those aforementioned laterals. Not only that, but the entire ride is glass-smooth and very rideable for any rider. However, it's just an average coaster in my opinion since it just doesn't compare to the park's other coasters or many of the other coasters I’ve been on, but it’s stillworth giving a ride or two since it’s always a walk-on. Personally, I like Rudy’s (yet another large Tivoli) at Santa’s Village better because of the extra lap, but Catwoman’s Whip isn’t half bad at all.
