Dont even think of screwing around with that seatbelt, folks.

This coaster is, in two words... Something Else. My brother and I, fresh off of Hades, decided to check it out quickly, as we were on a cross-country drive, and the clouds were looking mighty threatening. No line, a quick ride, we had tickets - lets hit er up - back seat looks fine. We had NO idea of what we were in for.

I would call this coaster the Mother Of All Airtime Experiences - but I dont even know that I want to term it Airtime, to be honest. More like Death Wish. This deceiving little SOB of a coaster had us gripping at the lap bar like drooling little wussies. With a sneaky way of throwing you from the seat with a vengeance, it becomes very clear, especially on one drop, that you could quite easily be fully ejected from this coaster. But holy crap, is it ever fun as all get out.

Overall, Cyclops is a surprisingly fast, precise little demon of a woodie, with herky-jerky little elements, and some really great hills. The ride doesnt last very long, but its probably better that way - its a little extreme for an extended ride experience. As you careen through the course, the coaster gets crazier and crazier, finally heading into the aforementioned "Hill of Possible Mortality", at which point I was literally lifted out of my seat, with my behind coming back down - on the seat divider. Completely insane, and so much fun. I immediately wondered how much longer this vicious little coaster will last, knowing that, at some point, there will likely be some moron who decides to tempt fate for whatever reason. Seriously, when we got off the ride, my brother said, "Without that seatbelt, one word - Done".

Highly recommended - fun as hell, and borderline terrifying at points. Hop on it while you can - I swear I can see a lawsuit on the horizon. And for Gods sake, keep that seatbelt on. Tightly.

I agree with you point-for-point, adriahna. Cyclops was the closest I ever came to becoming an amusement park statistic, but I love it for that.

While not the best overall coaster, it does provide the most violent moment of air. I did land on the seat divider, be happy you missed it.

Oh, I can relate, larry - I nearly ended up slipping off the divider, and falling into my brothers lap! Wouldnt be the most fun thing to have happen - god knows my brother and I have more than enough conversation topics between us...

something i really like about this review is the fact that you rate it the same as hades. there is a school of thought that says that large, sophisticated and ambitious projects must always trump the small, cheap, quirky and irratic installations by virtue of their representing a higher investment of thoughtfulness and finance. there is another school of thought that is reactionary to the exact contrary by virtue of unintentional, un-pretentious, and spontaneous brilliance trumping zealous, glory-seeking precision. and then there is the more sublime wisdom of feeling that both camps are different sides of the coin of greatness.

Thanks, hrry - this had crossed my mind as well, when I felt so compelled to give the two equal numerical ratings. Hades is a fluid work of art, an immensely enjoyable coaster. Cyclops is more of the hell-for-leather, out-to-kill-or-dismember-you sort of coaster. Ive really never been on a coaster so terrifying, when I think of it - now, I am particularly regretful that I never made it on the legendary Williams Grove Cyclone...
