I prefer steel coasters BUT I love this coaster, lots of speed, more than high enough and plenty of air plus its LONG, all woodies should be this good!

Plenty of air? Apart from the first drop, where is there airtime on the Beast?

I havent got air on this ride in the last 5 years.

The layout doesnt allow for that much airtime. There is the first drop, and another drop right after you turn around after the first drop. There arent really any other drops. The vast majority of the lay out is straight aways with some turns. The last big drop into the helix isnt steep enough to produce any airtime.

Ive gotten monster air on the first drop, but nothing stands out in my mind after that, airtime-wise. Beasts charm, such as it is, seems to be about speed and the interaction of the ride with the landscape.

It is hard to get air on the first drop when they brake it.

coaster05 you are exactly right. The drops after both of the lift hills are heavily braked. And Timbers there really isnt much speed on the Beast anymore because of the 4-5 trims you run into. Its remarkably annoying how every time the train builds up some momentum the trim brakes come in and ruin the fun.

I dont recall any brakes on Beasts first drop when I rode it last May (although the rest of the layout had a few). Did CF give it the Meanstreak treatment, or was the trim on the first drop there before? Im not even a Beast fan, and I still think thats sad.

Im pretty sure there are trims on the first drop. Confirming this would require that I go up to Kings Island, which aint happening any time soon.
