I remember a time not so long ago when Kumba was the MOTHER of all coasters (at least in the southeast). Now it has been dwarfed by taller and faster ones, both at BG and across the country. Nevertheless, it has aged gracefully and still delivers all the speed and force of a newer coaster. The initial drop into that insane loop will have you out of your seat before you know it, and it remains my favorite drop on a steel coaster, behind SRoS. Kumba is also extremely smooth. The only place where you might encounter some headbanging is through the corkscrew at the end, but its mild compared to the poundings normally doled out by Arrow or Vekoma machines. Kumba was my first "major" steel coaster, and it will always have a special place in my heart.
