WOW!!! This was THE best ride that I have EVER been on at an amusement park in my ENTIRE LIFE!!! Everything about it was PERFECT... The drop heights were perfect, the ride time was perfect, it had just the right amount of intensity, it was PERFECTLTY smooth, and the speed was perfect!!! LOL! Is that enough perfects for ya?!? The initial drop is an AWESOME height, and the remainder of the ride is simply amazing! Since this was only my second wooden roller coaster, it REALLY got my adrenaline pumping! I was so excited while on the ride that I screamed at the top of my lungs at the other car that we were racing, "WERE GONNA BEAT YOU!!!" when we passed them mid-way through the ride. The car that I was in was the green "Thunder" one, and we were racing the red "Lightning" car. And, fortunately, WE BEAT EM!!! LOL! I really liked the small tunnel that you race through near the end of the ride where your picture is taken. If you are in Hershey Park at any time, MAKE SURE TO RIDE THIS RIDE!!! Out of all of the rides that I rode during my last visit to Hershey Park, this one was DEFINITELY the best one!

Great review & welcome to this site dantheman2. I agree with you 100% about Lightning Racer altogether. Its definitely the best ride at Hersheypark (sorry Storm Runner, but that rides too short for it to be my favorite, but its my #2 favorite ride). It might not have that signature element, but the wide array of elements packed together makes this an extremely exciting ride. The first drops great & the racing action really shows because the trains come in really close towards the end.

BTW, what day did you go to Hersheypark? If you went there yesterday, did you come across the Pretzel House by Fender Bender & see a brotha work there? If you did, that was me because I was at that stand from 12:30-8:30 p.m. last night.

Sorry, I actually went to Hershey Park a few months ago when I rode Lightning Racer for the first time. Thanks for welcoming me to the site! I am going back to Hershey Park very soon, so I hope to be able to rate even more rides at Hershey Park such as the Comet and the SooperDooperLooper! I might even build up the guts to go on the great bear! Thanks for commenting!

Im only asking that because I really would like to see a fellow TPC member someday. Think about it. Everyone goes to amusement parks like any Florida park, Cedar Point, Six Flags parks, Dollywood, & many others. All of those places, except for Cedar Point, are parks Ill probably will never go to sometime soon. I thought itd be cool to meet a fellow coaster lover. Thats the only reason I ever ask that question.

I totally agree about the racer! Im glad to see people love the park as much as I do! Look for me for I come up often! By the way You will love the Comet and SooperDooperLooper. Two of Hersheys classics rides and who could not love classics. The Racer, the Comet and the Looper are some of the best rides out there.

I suggest you not say Racer when there is a Racer only a few hours away from Hershey. Someone might think youre talking about Kennywoods Racer, which, although I respect it, I didnt think it ruled. Sorry I did not know the kennywood had a Racer. I have never been to Kennywood (next summer I hope) I call Lighting Racer "The Racer" out of habit. I use shorter words when planning my day to save time. (Lighting Racer is Racer, SooperDooperlooper is Looper, ETC. Plus workers say Racer to save time (I overheard them and picked up the habit). Lighting Racer (Lighting Side) rules!!
