Review of Expedition Everest @ Animal Kingdom

I have to say I feel in love with Everest. One of the best rides I have ever been on. I was worried that the "hype" was going to let me down but that was definately not the case. There are many elements that make this ride unique, one being the unbelievable structure. It is just a beautiful coaster. The amount of artifacts, I believe the special on Everest said around 4,000 were bought for the ride. It has an amazing line, but the lift hill impressed me more, as I wasnt expecting all the artifacts there. Once inside the ride, the suspense builds into a perfect, calm, ride. The ride itself has different elements such as the broken track, backwards ride, cold effect inside the mountain, a stop that shows a shadow of the yeti, and then back outside where I really doubt many would believe was central florida, and then the climax, the huge yeti. An amazing creature. I beleive the perfect amount of timing for him as well. If we looked at him to long we would find flaws I am sure, but the quick pass by really makes him look real. This ride is pure disney magic.

Calm? I dont think I would use that word to desribe the backward or subsequent forward portions at all. A couple of the elements I would even call intense.

The ride isnt intense at all. I would argue that the actual "feel" of the ride is calm. The ride never jerks or brakes suddenly. I would say that as far as track layout, Big Thunder Mountain is more "intense." The ride is smooth and calm.

EE is not an intense ride overall, but there are a few moments of intense G-force on it. You just may not realize it because you arent bothered by it. BTMR, on the other hand, doesnt have any intense forces whatsoever. EE is a much faster and more intense ride than BTMR, there is no question.

A ride doesnt have to be rough or have some insane braking in it to be intense.

What might be intense for some, isnt for others. When I rode the ride I didnt feel "intense G-forces" but hey thats just me.

Exactly. There are other factors that can make a ride intense.
